Four takeaways from Grimsley’s 54-0 win over Page

Below are four quick takeaways from Grimsley’s  win over Page.

  1. Grimsley wins Metro 4A Conference Championship.  It was a goal they set before the season started.  They dominated in all three phases scoring touchdowns on 8 of 10 drives while holding the Pirates to 13 yards passing.   
  2. The Whirlie defense does not get enough credit.  This is third shutout in conference play, they have only given up 26 points all season in the Metro 4A!   
  3. Page was never able to establish the run.  Grimsley dominated the line of scrimmage and Page was never able to get running backs to the second level.  Page only had one drive that crossed mid-field.
  4. It was largest margin of victory ever in the storied rivalry.  Page had won by 49 two different times, but after the 63rd meeting Grimsley now holds the record on 54.
