Athletes, Coaches, Celebrities, we are seeing them all move on at a pretty quick pace these days…
(Add Walter Davis to the list, Gone at age 69…UNC Tar Heel basketball legend for his game-winning shot back in 1974, vs. the Duke Blue Devils…They just call it Walter Davis and 17 seconds.)
Bobby Knight, Indiana Hoosiers perfect season in 1976 with Quinn Buckner, Kent Benson and others…Gone at age 83…
Frank Howard, baseball player for the Washington Senators in his prime time…My favorite player back in my young baseball playing days….Power-hitter and he made it look easy…Gone at age 87..
(My seventh grade math teacher Mr. Jerry McSwain made us do a Spring math project and mine was to track Frank Howard’s batting average…He would stay above .300 most of the time, but he would kill it with the home runs, maybe 40 HRs/120 RBI.)
Dick Butkus, most feel this former Chicago Bear was one of, if not the top linebacker in NFL history…Tough, mean, and he made the scene…Butkus was also the name of Rocky’s dog in the Rocky movie(s)…Gone at age 80…
Matthew Perry, from Friends fame, Gone at age 54…
Richard Moll, “Bull” from Night Court, Gone at age 80…
Suzanne Somers, from Three’s Company, Gone at age 76…
People are leaving out of here, left and right….
Better love the people that God gives you, ’cause someday he’ll want them back….
