Three Quick Takeaways from Grimsley’s 54-0 trouncing over North Mecklenburg

Below are three quick takeaways from Grimsley’s 54-0 win over North Mecklenburg

  1. All three phases for Grimsley play great in the first half building a 41-0 lead.  The offense scored 5 touchdowns, the defense had an interception and special teams blocked a punt.  All three position groups played outstanding.
  2. Speaking of the defense…Grimsley only gives up 30 yards passing and intercepts Viking quarterback Zyon Hailey twice as the Whirlie pass rush overwhelmed the North Mecklenburg offensive line.  It is the 4th shutout of the year for the Whirlies!
  3. Speaking of line play….the Grimsley offensive line gave Brandon ample time to find wide receivers and Summers lanes to run for big gains.  The offensive line did not allow a single sack or quarterback pressure, allowing Faizon Brandon to complete 15 first half passes for 236 yards and a touchdown.
