Three Quick Takeaways from Grimsley’s 42-35 win over Hough:

Below are three quick takeaways from Grimsley’s 42-35 win over Hough High School.

  1. Mitchell Summers has a huge second half running for 150 yards and two touchdowns.  On the night Summers had 30 carries for 193 yards and 4 touchdowns.  His 4 yard run with 56 seconds left sealed the win for Grimsley.
  2. Hot third quarter.  Grimsley made some key adjustments on both sides of the ball at halftime that allowed them to dominate the third quarter and put up 14 unanswered.  In the third quarter the Whirlies scored two touchdowns and intercepted Hough quarterback Trey Blakeney once.
  3. Grimsley comes up with a big stop on 4-2 from their own 6 yard line.  Early in the second quarter, with Hough leading 14-7, the Huskies decided to go for it instead of making it a two score game.  Hough had success running the ball all night, but instead, they attempted a pass over the middle that was batted down at the line of scrimmage.  The very next play for Grimsley goes 69 yards on an Alex Taylor catch and the Whirlies were in business.
