Richard Goods lit up the Grimsley gymnasium with monster dunks and a big second half as the Whirlies pulled away from an upset minded Western Guilford team to improve to 10-3 on the year. Goods scored a game high 38 points, 23 coming in the second half, as the Whirlies were able to build off an 8 point halftime lead. In fact, the Hornets, now 0-13 on the season, played the Whirlies very well tight in the first half. A back and forth second quarter saw the game tied at 28 with 2:33 to play until halftime. The Hornets hit 4 three-pointers to open the game and only trailed 38-30 at the break. After the intermission though, it became the Rich Goods show as he used his big frame and soft touch to score at will down low. Western would only score 5 points in the third quarter as Grimsley pulled away for the 75-56 win. Faizon Brandon chipped in 16 for Grimsley while Elijah Riddick led the Hornets with 15 and Michael Webster scored 12.
