The Western Guilford Hornets’s road trip will continue as they head out to face the Southeast Guilford Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
Last Friday, Western Guilford came up short against Northern Guilford and fell 63-51. While losing is never fun, Western Guilford can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Northern Guilford is ranked 86th).
Meanwhile, even though College Prep & Leadership Academy scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Southeast Guilford still came out on top. Southeast Guilford pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over College Prep & Leadership Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southeast Guilford.
Western Guilford bumped their record down to 0-14 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Southeast Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Western Guilford barely slipped by Southeast Guilford in their previous matchup back in February of 2023….. Does Western Guilford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southeast Guilford turn the tables on them? We’ll have the answer soon enough.
