UNCG Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Host The Citadel & Wofford
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s basketball team returns to Greensboro to host The Southern Conference (SoCon) foes The Citadel and Wofford this week.
The Spartans will face the Bulldogs on Wednesday, January 17 with a 7:00 p.m. start time and will follow that game with a battle against the Terriers on Saturday, January 20 with a start time of 4:00 p.m. Both games will be played at the Greensboro Coliseum and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
UNCG is 12-5 overall this season and 3-1 in SoCon play. The Citadel is 8-9 overall and 0-4 in Conference play. Wofford is scheduled to host ETSU on Wednesday before traveling to Greensboro. The Terriers are currently 10-7 overall and 3-1 in the SoCon.
The Spartans are 7-0 this season when playing at home. UNCG has matched its 7-0 home record from the 2018-19 season.

UNCG shot past Chattanooga, 70-54, on Saturday, January 13 at McKenzie Arena on the CBS Sports Network.
Three Spartans tallied double figures, including Keyshaun Langley who paced UNCG with 17 points.
Kobe Langley was second on the team with 15 points and Donovan Atwell tallied 12 points.
Kobe registered his second-career double-double adding 11 assists.
UNCG outshot Chattanooga from behind the arc, 53.8 percent to 20.6 percent.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Currently, the Spartans are ranked nationally in the top 50 in eight categories: 11th in three point percentage (39.3), 11th in field goal percentage (38.7), 15th in three pointers per game (10.2), 38th in effective field goal percentage (0.550), 43rd in three point attempts per game (25.9), 45th in defensive rebounds per game (27.88), 47th in three point percentage defense (30.2), 48th in assist/turnover ratio (1.44).
UNCG is outscoring its opponents 77.1-68.9 and is averaging 6.8 steals per game compared to its foes who are averaging 5.8 per game.
They are leading the SoCon in assist/turnover ratio, field goal percentage defense, and three-point percentage defense.
Kobe is nationally ranked 13th in assists (105), 15th in assists per game (6.2), 17th steals per game (40), 23rd in steals per game (2.35), 23rd in assist/turnover ratio (3.28).
Atwell is nationally ranked 39th in total three-point field goals made (48), 50th in three pointers per game (2.82).
Three Spartans are averaging double figures, including Brown-Jones who is contributing 17.9 points a game, Keyshaun is averaging 13.6 points a game, and Atwell is averaging 11.2 points per game.
Keyshaun was named SoCon Player of the Week (Nov. 20), and Brown-Jones earned the honor on November 27.
The Spartans were voted to finish second in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ Poll and fourth in the Media Poll. They received one first-place vote in the Coaches’ Poll.
Keyshaun and Brown-Jones were selected to the SoCon Preseason All-SoCon team.
The Spartans return eight from last year’s roster, while adding three transfers and three freshmen.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Citadel was voted to finish ninth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ and Media Polls.
The Bulldogs have lost the last four games against SoCon opponents.
Quentin Millora-Brown is nationally ranked 24th in double-doubles (7), 28th in rebounds (160), 32nd in rebounds per game, (9.4), 45th in defensive rebounds per game (6.35).
Elijah Morgan is nationally ranked 16th in three point percentage (44.6), 33rd in three pointers per game (2.94), 33rd in total three point field goals made (50).
The Citadel holds the edge in points per game 72.2 over its opponents’ 68.5.
The Bulldogs are averaging 37.2 rebounds per game compared to their opponents’ 31.8 boards per game.
Four from The Citadel are averaging double digits, including AJ Smith with 15.9.
Elijah Morgan is averaging 14.9 points per game, Madison Durr is averaging 11.0, and Millora-Brown is averaging 10.2.
Millora-Brown is pacing the way with 9.4 rebounds per game and 1.4 blocks per game.

UNCG holds the series edge, 36-10.
The Spartans have won the last three meetings. They have also won 19 of the last 20 meetings, where the Bulldogs won on January 13, 2022, 74-69.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
Wofford was voted to finish eighth in both the SoCon Preseason Coaches’ and Media Polls.
The Terriers have defeated The Citadel, Mercer, and VMI to start SoCon play. They fell to Western Carolina.
Nationally as a team, they are ranked 21st in three pointers per game (9.8), 25th in three-point attempts per game (27.4), 32nd in defensive rebounds per game (28.41).
Kyler Filewich is nationally ranked 23rd rebounds (162), 26th in rebounds per game (9.5), 27th in offensive rebounds per game (3.35), 35th in double-doubles (6).
Corey Tripp is 38th nationally in field goal attempts (248).
Wofford has the edge over its opponents in scoring, 78.8-75.6.
The Terriers opponents have the edge over them in steals, 6.8-3.9.
Four Terriers are pacing the team in points per game, including Tripp with 16.2.
Dillon Bailey is second on the team with 13.4 points per game, while Filewich averages 10.5 and Jackson Silvills averages 10.2.
Filewich is leading the team with 9.5 rebounds per game.

Wofford has the advantage in the series: 32-21.
UNCG won the regular season series last year behind scores of 97-89 and 73-64.
