Wes Unseld Jr. out as the Washington Wizards head coach: Still say his dad, Wes Unseld, was one of the Best Rebounders in the history of the NBA

On a GreensboroSports.com entry note, I wasn’t even aware that there was a Wes Unseld Jr., and to me there will always only be one Wes Unseld…He was a big bull of a man, and not to be confused with a bully for the Bullets/Baltimore Bullets/Washington Bullets, but I tell you when I hear the name Wes Unseld, I thinks of only one thing….Rebounding…That man was a rebounding machine…Strong and tough, personified…

To me, guys like Wes Unseld and Bill Russell lived to rebound…They both owned the boards….Wes Unseld had more rebounds than he did points in his career, all spent with the Bullets….

Baltimore, Capital, and Washington Bullets…Wes Unseld with 13,769 rebounds for his career, and Unseld with 10,624 career points….Career NBA rebound average for Wes Unseld was 14.0 rebounds per game and that is a bunch…He was a 6’7/245 pound center as a pro…Unseld was named the NBA Most Valuable Player and NBA Rookie of the Year during his rookie season and joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only two players in NBA history to accomplish the feat.

Wes Unseld =’s Greatness and I am not sure what went wrong for his son, Wes Unseld Jr., there in Washington…

I only know one thing about the Unselds, to me there will always only be one Wes Unseld, and he was one-of-a-kind…

RIP Wes Unseld, and as the old saying goes, we are still thinking about you today, and “We Love You Man”, and we loved the way you played the game of basketball…….
**********And talking about that word/name Love…..Wes Unseld was the godfather of Cleveland Cavaliers all-star forward, Kevin Love, as Kevin’s father Stan Love was a teammate of Unseld’s on the Baltimore Bullets.**********

Washington Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. entered the season on the hot seat, and the team has finally decided to make a change.

The Wizards announced on Thursday that Unseld will transition from head coach to a front-office advisory role. Unseld said in a statement that he is grateful for his time as the coach in Washington and is looking forward to helping the organization in other ways.

Unseld, 48, became the head coach of the Wizards in 2021. The team won 35 games in each of his first two seasons but decided to stick with him, noting that there was high roster turnover and some significant injuries to key players last year.

The Wizards have been a disaster this season. They fell to 7-36 with a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. It is clear a total rebuild is needed in Washington, and a new coach will be overseeing it.
