UNCG Track & Field Records Eight Personal Bests at Camel City Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s and women’s track & field teams competed at the JDL Fast Track for the fourth time this season in the two-day Camel City Invitational.
On the women’s side, there were five personal best marks, while on the men’s side there was three.
MEN’S RESULTS
In the 800-meter run, both Samuel Barnard and Andrew Hamilton finished in the top five out of 50 competitors. Barnard clocked in a time of 1:58.50, placing third, while Hamilton finished fourth with a time of 1:58.99. Both took first in their respective sections.
In the 3000-meter run, three of four Spartans ran personal best times, as Khalid Abdullahi ran the event for the first time. Evan Pena placed 12th out of 68 competitors with a personal best time of 8:33.62. Pena’s time places him on the UNCG top 10 marks in history. Ethan Long was the next Blue & Gold on the results, taking home 19th with his personal best time of 8:36.96. JT Brownlee also clocked in a personal best time in the event.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
Vicky Sosa crushed the 3000-meter run, clocking in a personal best time of 10:19.38. She dropped 13 seconds from her previous record. Her time at the Camel City Invitational placed her 11th out of 52 competitors and she led the way in her section. Her time is now in the UNCG top-10 marks of program history.

Two Spartans ran personal best times in the mile. Jenna Reiter was the first Blue & Gold across the finish line, finishing 11th out of 52 competitors with a time of 5:16.37. Both Camille Carlson (5:24.72) and Kaitlyn Harrison (5:42.28) ran personal best times in the event.
Peyton Wilson ran a personal best time of 1:05.23 in the 400-meter run. Her time placed her 23rd overall.
In the 60-meter qualifying event, Kiarrah Williams ran a personal best time of 8.64 seconds. Her time placed her 47th overall.
