Game Report on Bishop McGuinness-CPLA Boys Basketball with Round Two of the NCHSAA Playoffs:Nicohlas Graves, Miller Aho, and Cal Barrett make Viallains Victorious again

The Bishop McGuiness Villains hosted conference foe College Prep & Leadership Academy in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA State Tournament on Friday night. The Villains jumped out to an early double-digit lead but had to fight against a scrappy CPLA team before they could expand that lead in the 2nd half. It was a strong defensive effort in that 2nd half that propelled Bishop to a victory.

The Villains were led by Nicholas Graves who finished with 17 points and 4 steals. Forward Miller Aho added 13 points and 3 rebounds. Senior Cal Barrett had a double-double (11 points and 11 rebounds) in his second straight game with 10+ rebounds.

Bishop will face off against the Murphy Bulldogs in the NCHSAA Sweet Sixteen next Tuesday night.
