CARROLL COMPANIES RETURNS TO FRED BARAKAT SPORTS DINNER AS PRESENTING PARTNER; TICKETS, TABLES, PARTNERSHIPS REMAIN

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Carroll Companies is returning to the Fred Barakat Sports Dinner as its presenting partner, the Greensboro Sports Council announced today. Founded in 2008, The Fred Barakat Sports Dinner was renamed in 2011 in memory of the late associate commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Carroll Companies sponsored the 2022 event featuring Clemson University Football Coach Dabo Swinney. The 2024 dinner is set for Tuesday, April 30 on the Greensboro Coliseum arena floor.

ESPN College Basketball Analyst and two-time ACC Men’s Basketball coach of the year Seth Greenberg will be the featured speaker at the 2024 Fred Barakat Sports Dinner presented by The Carroll Companies benefitting the Matt Brown Learn-to-Swim Endowment; this program aims to teach water-safety skills to every second-grade student in the Guilford County School System at no cost to the family; the program is mostly privately funded.

In partnership with Guilford County Schools, the Greensboro Aquatic Center developed a curriculum-based Learn-to-Swim healthy-lifestyle program that debuted in 2011. Students in the Learn-to-Swim program receive instruction in a 25-yard pool and are taught techniques that foster a systematic progression of swimming skills that will maximize their development over a series of five 40-minute lessons. The skills learned through the Learn-to-Swim Program are lifesaving and help students develop an active lifestyle while exposing them to additional swimming opportunities.
