We talk to new Greensboro Grasshoppers manager Blake Butler on Tuesday afternoon, prior to the start of the new 2024 South Atlantic League High A baseball season, and we talk about the excitement that comes with the challenges of this new season, his time as a high school baseball player at Southeast Guilford High School, just outside of Greensboro, N.C., also his days playing college baseball with the College of Charleston Cougars, his career with the Daytona Tortagus, and how he got into the Pittsburgh Pirates system, where he is now managing the High A Greensboro Grasshoppers…

INF Jack Brannigan sat down with us too, on Tuesday, and he was with the Greensboro Grasshoppers last season, after his super start down in Bradenton, Florida with the Marauders…He came to Greensboro and he tore it up reall quick here too…Jack Brannigan from Chicago, and he played college baseball at Notre Dame, for former UNCG coach, and now Florida State coach, Link Jarrett…Jack is back, and his goal is to get things ready in Greensboro, for his next move up the ladder to the Double A Altoona Curve…

The Greensboro Grasshoppers have ‘The Core Four’, that came here late last season from the Bradenton Marauders, and this four of INF Jack Brannigan, 2B Temarr Johnson, 1B Josiah Sightler, and C Nick Cimillo could really give the Hoppers a strong boost to begin the 2024 season….How long we can keep them here, will be a factor that is out of our control, so enjoy this former “Bradenton Bunch” while you can here in Greensboro, because before too long, the will be on the train that rolls into Altoona, Pennsylvania…

The Greensboro Grasshoppers first game of the new season is coming up this Friday night(April 5) vs. the Greenville Drive, with the first pitch due in at 6:30pm at First National Bank Field…
