UNCG Baseball Drops Game Two at Wofford, 8-3

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team dropped game two of its series at Wofford, 8-3 on Saturday afternoon at Russell C. King Field.

After both teams stayed scoreless through the first three innings of play, Wofford was able to get on the board first after Daniel Jackson homered to right field for two RBI (2-0).

The Spartans tallied their first run of the day in the fifth inning when Caleb Cozart scored off a throwing error from Wofford’s shortstop, cutting the deficit to one (2-1).

Wofford added another run in the fifth, two more in the seventh and three in the eighth inning for the 8-1 advantage.

Jake Ogden kept UNCG alive in the ninth inning with his second homer of the season going to left field, scoring himself and Aidan Brewer (8-3). However, Alec Bouchard closed it out on the bump for the Terriers to come away with game two, 8-3.

Four different Spartans tallied one hit apiece.
Ogden led the team with two RBI.
Rob Ready led the Spartans on the mound with five strikeouts, while the winning pitcher for the Terriers only had three.
