UNCG Track & Field Takes Home Seven Top 10 Finishes at VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the VertKlasse Meeting on Friday and Saturday at Vert Stadium, hosted by High Point.

Four women clocked in personal best times, while six men ran personal best times.

Freshman Khalid Abdullahi led the way in the 1500-meter for the Spartans with a seventh-place finish and a personal best time of 3:57.17.

Colin Keck also clocked in a personal best time of 4:00.21, finishing 14th out of 99 competitors. Lane Prochaska placed 18th overall for the third Spartan with a top-20 finish, clocking in a time of 4:02.14.

Both Samuel Barnard and Andrew Hamilton earned top-10 finishes in the 800-meter run. Barnard took home a sixth-place mark out of 17 competitors clocking in a time of 1:53.04, while Hamilton finished eighth with a personal best time of 1:53.19.

Vicky Sosa was the only Spartan on the women’s side that earned a top-10 mark in the 1500-meter run. She finished seventh out of 90 competitors with a personal best time of 4:42.60.

Shay Soukup placed seventh out of 49 competitors in the 800-meter run. She ran a time of 2:23.45.

Up next

The Spartans are scheduled to compete at the Duke Invitational, hosted by the Blue Devils, and the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic, hosted by Lynchburg from Friday, April 12 to Saturday, April 13.
