The Hard-hitting Hoppers have done it again…On Tuesday night it was Five Greensboro Greensboro Grasshoppers home runs to push the Hoppers past the WS Dash, 9-2…Then on Wednesday morning/Wednesday afternoon, the Hard-hitting Hoppers’ Power was on display again, when the Grasshoppers left the yard, FIVE MORE times, to power past the Winston-Salem Dash, 14-4…Fourteen to Four, was our final score, with Greensboro’s Mitch Jebb homering two times, and ended up the game with 5 RBI….Then you had HR’s from Sammy Siani and Maikol Escotto, who both connected for Solo HRs, and Rodolfo Nolasco blasted a three-run HR for the Greensboro Grasshoppers…Jebb and Siani had both homered back on Tuesday night, so they both have gone LONG GONE now, in back-to-back games…

On Tuesday night it was Charles McAdoo with the multi homer game, as he hit two and also drove in a total of Five Runs…Then on Wednesday it was Mitch Jebb with the mult-homer outing, and Jebb duplicated McAdoo’s feat, as Jebb also have Five RBI…

No lack of Power right now on the part of these Greensboro Grasshoppers was they have worn out the WS Dash pitching to the tune of 23 runs and 10 Home Runs over the past two contests…The Hoppers now have 2-0 advantage in the Best-of-Six Games set, set for this week, vs. The Dash, and on the season, Greensboro has won six of eight meetings with Winston-Salem, here in 2024…

Our Players of the Game from the Wednesday Win were, POG Exhibit A Mitch Jebb, POG Exhibit B Geovanny Planchart, POG Exhibit C Sammy Siani, POG Exhibit D Rodolfo Nolasco, and POG Exhibit E was Maikol Escotto…

16 Hits Lift the Grasshoppers Over the Dash, 14-4 for its Wednesday Day Game

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeat the Winston-Salem Dash, 14-4 on Wednesday, May 1. The Grasshoppers improved to 14-8 on the season while the Dash fell to 9-14. Greensboro outhit Winston 16-6 as both teams had one mishap.

Infielder Mitch Jebb led the Grasshoppers’ offense going 3-6 with two home runs, one double, two runs scored, and five RBI. Following close behind was Sammy Siani as he went 3-4 with one home run, one double, two runs scored, and two RBI. Catcher Geovanny Planchart also tallied three hits with a triple, four runs scored, and one RBI.

Leading at the plate for the Dash was catcher Colby Smelley as he went 3-4 with one RBI. Hits for the Dash were also tallied by Shawn Goosenberg, Wes Kath, and Chris Lanzilli.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Patrick Reilly as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up five hits, two earned runs, and two free bases on four innings of work. Cy Nielson recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 1-0 on the season.

Starting on the rubber for Winston-Salem was lefthanded pitcher Tyler Schweitzer as he recorded five strikeouts and gave up seven hits, seven runs (five earned), and three free bases on 4.2 innings of work. Schweitzer took the loss for the Dash and fell to 0-2 on the season.
