Now three(3) straight wins this week for the Greensboro Grasshoppers over the WS Dash…Jersey Shore BlueClaws(34-26) were 5-0 winners over the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Thursday night, and the Hoppers still with a 1/2(Half-Game) lead over Jersey Shore, in the South Atlantic League’s Northern Division, with 6 games remaining in the first half of play…

from Thursday night in Winston-Salem, the Hoppers Heavy Hitters with Homers again, as Nick Cimillo had a three-run clout, and it was Lonnie White Jr., with a solo sonic boomer, with both Cimillo and White Jr. connecting on their 9th homers of the season…As a team, the Greensboro Grasshoppers now with 92 home runs, in 59 games, here in 2024…

Charles McAdoo went 2-4, with a Double for the Hoppers, and McAdoo has now raised his batting average up to .343 for the season…That should put Charles McAdoo at #2 in the SALLY in batting, based on the necessary number of At-Bats to be in the race/hunt for the batting title…

Great start in the game for the Hoppers on Thursday night, with Nick Cimillo leading the early charge…
Top 1st
Nick Cimillo homers on a line drive to left field. Termarr Johnson scores. Charles McAdoo scores.
GBO 3,WS 0

In the top of the fourth inning, the Hoppers unload again, this time with Lonnie White Jr. going LONG GONE…
Top 4th
Lonnie White Jr. homers on a fly ball to left field.
GBO 4,WS 0

The Hoppers looking for, and getting an insurance run in the Top of the Eighth Inning…
Top 8th
Josiah Sightler singles on a line drive to left fielder Shawn Goosenberg. Charles McAdoo scores.
GBO 5,WS 1

The Grasshoppers get themselves an Add-On Run in the Top of the Ninth Inning, when Hudson Head steals home…
Top 9th
P.J. Hilson out at 3rd, catcher Colby Smelley to third baseman Jordan Sprinkle. P.J. Hilson steals 2nd base. Hudson Head steals home.
GBO 6,WS 1

MORE Hopper hitters:We talked about the power of Nick Cimillo(3 RBI) and Lonnie White Jr. at the plate, with those BIG home runs, plus Charles McAdoo going 2-4, with his Double and two runs scored…And we also saw Josiah Sightler going 2-4/RBI…Hudson Head goes 1-4/Run/2 SBs(Stole Home)…Geovanny Planchart 1-3/BB…Mitch Jebb 1-4…Termarr Johnson 0-3/BB/Run…

Hoppers starting pitcher, Wilber Dotel, who was also the Winning Pitcher, Dotel goes 5 1/3 innings, giving up 1 Run, on 6 Hits, with 4 BBs/4 Ks…Dotel with 87 pitches and 52 for strikes…As a staff on Thursday, with Dotel joined by Elijah Birdsong, Brenden Bidois, and Jaden Woods, the Hoppers walked 7 Dash batters and struck out 6…Outstanding effort by the bullpen, again with Birdsong, Bidois, and Woods, having the Super Goods, by allowing 0 Runs, on 0 Hits, with 3 BBs/2 Ks…It was 3 1/3 Innings from the Hoppers’ pen on Thursday night, and again, give the pen something like a Grade A on this day…

Starting pitcher Shane Murphy for the Dash worked 6 Innings, and he gave up 4 runs, on 6 hits, with 1 BB/6 Ks, and Murphy served up two Hopper Homers…Not a bad overall outing from Murphy, with the 6 frames, and the 6 Ks, but the two homers hurt him, with the Three-Run shot by Cimillo, being the big blow…

In noting this game, the Greensboro Grasshoppers took down the WS Dash by 5 runs, bringing it home, 6-1 for the victory, but at the plate there were highs and lows, like the 3 runs in the first inning to pretty much take the game over, but the Hoppers did go 1-2-3 in the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th innings…Three-Up, Three-Down for five of the nine innings in the contest….

Top WS Dash batter by far was Colby Smelley, who was 3-4 at the plate…Just the one run scored for the Dash, with Mario Camilletti going 1-4, and scoring the lone Dash run…Eddie Park brought Camilletti to the plate on a force out, and Park was 1-4/RBI…As a team on Thursday, no extra-base hits for the Dash…

And now let’s go for those Game Particulars…..
