Hoppers' Line-4-5-1 Dash' Line- 1-1-0
Greensboro Grasshoppers(55-31/16-5)
Winston-Salem Dash(40-47/9-12)
Hoppers take the Six-Game Series from the Dash this past week, 4-2, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers now lead the season series with the Dash, 17-7…
Home Run in the first inning today by the Hoppers’ Jack Brannigan, and it was his 15th of the season, and for the Hoppers as a team, that was HR # 136 for 2024…Brannigan the home run and a single, plus a walk, as he went 2-2/HR/BB/Run/RBI today…Kalae Harrison went 1-2/Double/2 RBI for the Hoppers on Sunday, and the fifth and final Hoppers hit came from P.J. Hilson, who was 1-1/HBP/Run for the day…Wyatt Hendrie also got hit by a pitch and scored on Sunday afternoon…Josiah Sightler goes 0-1/BB…And that pretty much wraps up your offense for the Sunday game…
The game only lasted 5 1/2 innings, with the game being halted, due to rain, at 3:38pm…The game never resumed, and it was called a complete game, at 4:08pm, with the game going to the Hoppers who had the lead after the necessary five complete innings…
Hoppers pitching was in full force on Sunday, with the Grasshoppers starter Wilber Dotel going five innings, and he gave up just one run, on 1 hit, with 0 BBs/8 Ks…One home run vs. Dotel, and it came in the second inning from Ryan Galanie, his blast to out by the maintainence shed in center field…Galanie reached base again, in the fourth inning when Dotel hit him with a pitch…HR #6 of the year for Galanie, his home run was the only hit of the vs. Dotel, and ended up being the only hit of the entire game by the WS Dash…Hopper reliever Darvin Garcia got two of the three batters he faced in the sixth inning, before the game was halted due to the pop-up showers, with one man reaching on an error on Garcia, and then that was the last baserunner of the day for the Dash…
(Nice One-Hit win from the Hoppers’ pitching staff.)
There you go, a Rain-Shortened Win by the Hoppers on Sunday afternoon at First National Bank Field…
