High School Football: High Point-Thomasville HiToms Triad Kick-Off Classic

4th Annual Triad Kick-Off Classic

HIGH POINT, NC – The High Point-Thomasville HiToms are proud to sponsor the fourth annual Triad Kick-Off Classic Wednesday, August 14th and Friday, August 16th at the High Point Athletic Complex’s A.J. Simeon Stadium.

Thirteen Triad area high schools will participate in this year’s football showcase with nearly all programs fielding varsity and junior varsity squads: High Point Central, Southwest Guilford, East Davidson, Randleman, North Davidson, Thomasville, Ledford, Wheatmore, Bishop McGuiness, Andrews, Southwest Randolph, Mt. Tabor and Glenn. With nearly 1,400 student-athletes participating, the HiToms Kick-Off Classic is already the Triad’s largest high school football jamboree.

The Kick-Off Classic will be played as double headers over two nights – Wednesday, August 14 and Friday, August 16 – at Simeon Stadium in the High Point Athletic Complex. Starting at 6:00 pm with a varsity contest at Simeon Stadium and junior varsity game at the adjacent Track Complex, each game will be an exciting one-hour jamboree match-up featuring the Triad’s best prep football players.

For the second consecutive year, the Kick-Off Classic will feature a player skills challenge. Expanding upon 2023’s field-goal challenge, the 2024 event will feature three events: Quarterback Throwing Skills Challenge, Field Goal Kicking Contest and a Punter’s Challenge. Featuring each school’s kickers in a single-elimination field-goal challenge, the skills competition is an effort to incorporate a broader spectrum of student-athletes and add an air of additional competition.

“The growth of the Triad Kick-Off Classic and all of our Scholastic Classics is a direct result of the esprit de corps established between the HPT HiToms and our Triad area partner schools,” HiToms President Greg Suire said. “Unifying our community by providing an exciting, single-site competition opportunity for HPT area student-athletes is the bedrock of our event’s mission and growth,” Suire added. “It is so gratifying to know that when public and private entities work together for the good of our community, student-athletes benefit.”
