Greensboro Ice House Announces “Glide for Gold” Summer Skating Academy
Greensboro, NC – The Greensboro Ice House is thrilled to announce the “Glide for Gold” week, a part of the Summer Skating Academy, running from July 29th to August 2nd, celebrating the 2024 Paris Olympics. This exciting program invites local youth to enhance their skating skills, by learning jumps, spins and how to stroke, all under the guidance of top instructors. Participants will showcase their new skills in a performance for family and friends at the end of the week.
In addition to skill-building, the academy will offer insights into the International Judging System, helping students understand how scores are given in local and Olympic figure skating events. This knowledge will deepen their appreciation for the sport and its competitive elements.
The week will conclude with a special appearance by Snowplow Sam, the U.S. Figure Skating mascot, during the closing ceremony. This event promises to be a highlight of the summer for young skaters. For more information and to register, visit www.greensboroice.com
