Greensboro Grasshoppers Tuesday Baseball Report
brought to us by Mike Causey for NC Insurance Commissioner…..

Final from Tuesday morning 11am game at Winston-Salem’s Truist Stadium:
Winston-Salem Dash 11, Greensboro Grasshoppers 10
WP:Ben Beutel(1-1)

Dash Line'- 11-13-2
Hoppers' Line-10-16-2

Looks like one of those good old fashioned battles/wars, where the Hoppers just came out on the short end of the stick…Hoppers up 7-2, in the top of the third inning, and this games ends up with as many twists and turns as one of the wild rides at the Carowinds theme park…The Dash cut the lead to 7-4, then the Grasshoppers go up 9-4, before the Dash score 6 huge runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and put WS up 11-9, and the Hoppers never could find their way back in front, and the Greensboro guys fall, 11-10 to the Winston-Salem Dash, on Tuesday morning in the Smoke City..

One of the hardest parts for loyal Greensboro Grasshoppers followers to swallow when they see this result, is the fact that after this loss today/Tuesday, the Greensboro Grasshoppers are now at (2-8) over their last ten(10) baseball games…

Overalls:
Greensboro Grasshoppers(57-39/18-13)
Winston-Salem Dash(46-52/14-17)

Greensboro Grasshoppers still missing Jack Brannigan, after he was injured in the Asheville series last week…

The Hoppers did very well at the 6-9 spots in their batting order, plus they got Hopper Homers from both Luke Brown and Maikol Escotto…A look at at how it went, going 6-9…#6 man, P.J. Hilson goes 4-5/3 Runs…#7 man, Josiah Sightler went 2-4/BB…#8 man, Luke Brown was 1-3/HR/BB/3 Runs/3 RBI…#9 man, Maikol Escotto ended up going 3-5/HR/Double/2 Runs/3 RBI…Back to the top of the lineup, Termarr Johnson was 2-4/BB/RBI…Mitch Jebb hit safely again, going 1-6…Catcher Shawn Ross was 2-5/RBI…Hudson Head winds up 1-5/Triple/Run…Lonnie White Jr. was 0-5/Run/RBI…Everybody was doing something, and when you have 16 hits, you figure just about everybody is getting in on the action, and they were….

Tough day for the Hoppers pitching staff, allowing 11 runs, on 13 hits, with 7 BBs, and 6 Ks….More walks than strikeouts, not a good day…The WS Dash walked 3 Hoppers and struck out 13…
