Final from Tuesday night, at First National Bank Field:
Asheville Tourists 6, Greensboro Grasshoppers 1
WP:Franny Cobos(6-1)

Tourists' Line-6-7-0
Hoppers' Line- 1-4-1

Greensboro Grasshoppers(63-49/24-24)
Asheville Tourists(46-66/19-30)

Hoppers were on top 1-0, until the seventh inning, and that is where the wheels came off of the proverbial wagon…The Asheville Tourists sent 13 men to the plate in the fateful top of the 7th, and after a couple of key doubles by Narbe Cruz and Ryan Johnson, the Tourists walked out into the 8th innning, with a lead of 6-1 over the Greensboro Grasshoppers…All of the Tourists’ 6 runs, coming during that crazy seventh inning…

The Grasshoppers got a very efficient performance from their starting pitcher, Double D, Derek Diamond…Diamond worked a solid six innings, allowing 0 runs, on just one hit, with 0 BB/6 Ks…The Asheville opposing pitcher, Derek True, was nearly equally impressive…True goes five innings, and gave up just one run, on four hits, with 1 BB/7 Ks…The starting pitchers were the heart of the early part of this game, and this game was moving fast….

Hoppers end up with four hits, and Omar Alfonzo got half of them, going 2-3/Run…Shawn Ross was 1-2/Double/BB…Termarr Johnson goes 1-4…And there’s your four hits…Lonnie White Jr. reached base with a walk, and he was 0-3/BB…Maikol Escotto ends up 0-2/BB…Kalae Harrison went 0-2/SAC Fly RBI…Mitch Jebb was 0-3/BB…

The Grasshoppers walked four times in the ballgame, and they struck out 12 times…Asheville walked twice, and struck out seven times…

Asheville’s top hitters were Narbe Cruz who was 2-4/Double/BB/Run…Anthony Sherwin 2-4/RBI…Ryan Johnson 1-4/Double/Run/2 RBI…

That top of the seventh inning is where the Hoppers really got the bad ‘Taste of the Tourists’…Thirteen A’ville batters and the Hoppers’ pitcher Elijah Birdsong got hit hard…It was 6 runs, on 5 hits, with 1 BB/0 Ks, for EB/Elijah Birdsong, in his one-third of and inning of work, in the sacrificial seventh…
