Dovlo’s Fourth-Minute Tally Sends UNCG Men’s Soccer Past Coastal Carolina
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s soccer team won 1-0 over Coastal Carolina University (CCU) in non-conference action on Sunday night at the UNCG Soccer Stadium.
Sophomore forward Enzo Dovlo struck first again for UNCG in its second match of the season. He now has three goals in just two matches. Additionally, redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Seth Wilson earned his second consecutive clean sheet with a pair of saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dovlo got the scoring started for a second game in a row after he chipped a shot past the Chanticleers’ goalkeeper Tristan Himes on a break. Mikey Ketteman registered his first assist of the season with a through pass that led Dovlo to the goal.
The Spartans carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime. UNCG dominated the first half, outshooting Coastal Carolina 6-1 while also leading 8-1 in corner kicks. Wilson made one save for UNCG in the half while Himes turned aside three for the Chanticleers.
The second half saw the Spartans hang on to secure a 1-0 victory. In total, UNCG went on to take 10 corner kicks compared to CCU’s three in the match.
