How the Locals were looking in the NFL on Sunday:
Everybody LOVES Andy(Dalton) after the Carolina Panthers picked up their first win of the season, with their 36-22 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders…And love Andy Dalton, the Panthers should, as he went 26-37 passing for 319 yards with 3 TD passes and 0 INT. Andy led Carolina to a 21-7 hafltime lead, and the Panthers never looked back…Dalton was throwing passes upfield and several of his passes were going for 30 yards-plus…
Quite a showing for the Carolina Panthers new starting quarterback, and now with Andy Dalton as QB1, the Carolina are competitive again, and look like a totally different football team…The Panthers now look like a professional football team, and isn’t it amazing how much difference one player can make…But, when it is your quarterback, things just have to be right back there, and for now, it looks like the Panthers have righted the ship…
Will know more next Sunday with the Cincinnati Bengals coming into Bank of America Stadium…For now, all is well in Panthers Land for at least this week…Here’s hoping the new charted course forward, in the right direction, will continue…Solid running Sunday, by Chuba Hubbard, who ran for 114 yards, on 21 carries…WR Diontae Johnson had 8 receptions for 122 yards and 1 TD catch, for the Carolina Panthers…
from YardBarker.com on Andy Dalton’s performance:
Andy Dalton, quarterback, Carolina Panthers
After looking like the worst team in the NFL heading into Week 3, the Panthers looked like a completely different squad with Dalton leading the way. In Sunday’s 36-22 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the 14-year veteran was unstoppable (26-of-37, 319 yards, 3 TDs), becoming the first quarterback in 2024 to throw for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in a game, per CBS Sports.
It will be the Cincinnati Bengals(0-2) with LB Germaine Pratt, from High Point Central HS/N.C. State, hosting the Washington Commanders(1-1) this week/Monday September 23, on Monday Night Football on ABC and ESPN, at 8:15pm…Pratt with 9 Tackles/6 Solo Tackles, to lead the Bengals’ defense…
(LB Akeem Davis-Gaither, from Thomasville HS/Appalachian State) also there with Pratt and the Bengals.)
Davis-Gaither with 3 Tackles/2 Solo Tackles for the Bengals…
Chicago Bears:Keenan Allen(Northern Guilford HS/California) missed his second straight game for the Bears, and the Bears lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 21-16…The Bears ruled out receiver Keenan Allen (heel/personal)for Sunday’s game against the Colts in Indianapolis.
It does not appear that Allen’s injury is a long-term issue.
“His heel [is] getting better,” Eberflus said. “He’s working back with the trainers. Speeds are getting better. Cutting, moving, all that’s better.
“He’ll be ready when he’s ready; when his body tells him. We have a really good training staff, and those guys are trying to get him back as soon as possible. Keenan has been working diligently to get that done. He has been on the field. He has been moving and cutting. We’ll see where it goes next week.”
Pittsburgh Steelers:Larry Ogunjobi(Ragsdale HS/Charlotte) with 3 Tackles/1 Solo Tackle in the Steelers win, 20-10 over the LA Chargers…
Detroit Lions:DJ Reader(Grimsley HS/Clemson) had 1 Tackle for the Detroit Lions in their 20-13 victory over the Arizona Cardinals…
Detroit Lions:Emmanuel Moseley(Dudley HS/Tennessee) Lions have placed Moseley (pectoral) on injured reserve and he is sidelined indefinitely…
Detroit Lions:Hendon Hooker(Dudley HS/Virginia Tech/Tennessee) is the backup QB for the Lions and did not see action vs. the Arizona Cardinals…Heavy rumors have been out there, that Hendon Hooker may be traded to the Tennessee Titans…
LA Rams:Joshua Karty(Western Alamance HS/Stanford) was 2-2 in Field Goals and 3-3 on his PAT Kicks, and delivered 9 points for the Rams, in their 27-24 win over the San Francisco 49ers…This made it a “Karty Party”, at SoFi Stadium, in Los Angeles, when Joshua Karty hit on a 37-Yard Field Goal, with just two seconds left in the game, to win it for the Rams….
from therams.com:
INGLEWOOD, Calif. – The Rams (1-2) secured their first win of the season in dramatic fashion, as kicker Joshua Karty’s 37-yard field goal with two seconds remaining lifted them to a thrilling 27-24 win over the 49ers (1-2) on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
