Jack Marcotte Finishes on Top for Men’s Golf at Rod Myers
DURHAM, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team concluded the Rod Myers Invitational on Monday by finishing in 11th place at Duke Golf Course in Durham, North Carolina.
TEAM
UNCG carded rounds of 296-287-296 for 15-over-par (879) at the two-day event.
N.C. State finished on top at the tournament with a 22-under-par (842).
The Spartans finished second in the field with 171 pars.
The Blue & Gold recorded a 4.72 average on par fives.
INDIVIDUAL
Jack Marcotte paced the Spartans to finish in a tie for 30th place with rounds of 77-72-70 for three-over-par (219).
B.J. Boyce and Colin Dutton followed closely behind Marcotte by finishing in a tie for 36th place. Boyce and Dutton carded a four-over-par (220) through the three rounds.
Boyce finished third in the field with a 4.42 average on par fives.
Jake Lewis recorded rounds of 77-72-73 to claim a tie for 45th place in the event for six-over-par (222).
Kelvin Hernandez posted his best score on Monday with an even par (72). The sophomore finished in a tie for 54th place with nine-over-par (225).
Keenan Royalty and Will Guidry rounded out the scorecard for the Spartans in a tie for 56th place. Royalty and Guidry earned a 10-over-par (226) across the two days.
Royalty was one of 13 players in the tournament to card an eagle.

UP NEXT
The Spartans will head to Vero Beach, Florida, to compete in the Quail Valley Invitational from Oct. 13-14 at Quail Valley Golf Course, hosted by Michigan State.
