GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s soccer team defeated Chattanooga in a 1-0 shutout on Sunday afternoon at Finley Stadium in The Southern Conference (SoCon) play. This was the Spartans third shutout of the season.

With the win against the Mocs, the Spartans extended their win streak to three victories against Chattanooga. Also with the triumph, UNCG kept the Mocs winless at Finley Stadium this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Chattanooga held possession for the majority of the first half as UNCG took some time to settle into play. UNCG came into the second half controlled and carried an offensive mindset, tallying five shots and three corner kicks in the first 14 minutes of play. One of the five shots included the lone goal, where Ava Kiss chipped in a shot from just inside the 18-yard box at 58:41. Merle Greulich maneuvered around a defender creating space to find Kiss for the on-timer. In the remaining minutes, the Mocs only had two shots on goal that Malone turned away, holding on for the win.
