Former Grimsley High School baseball player Shaquille Jacobs battled leukemia back in the day and he came out the Winner…Now Shaq works with Capital One, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and he is doing well…He once had a wish to meet a professional baseball player in person, and got his Wish granted when he had the chance to meet and visit with former Philadelphia Phillie infielder Jimmy Rollins, at Disney World, in Florida…Shaq played baseball for the Grimsley Whirlies and pretty sure he made the Metro 4-A All-Conference team while he was with the Whirlies back around 2008/2009….
Ran into his dad today, over near General Greene School, and he tells us Shaquille Jacobs/Shaq Jacobs is doing great these days…Always good to get the good reports, and just a few pieces below from GreensboroSports.com in the past….
Grimsley also has an up and coming African-American baseball player —–sophomore Shaquille Jacobs who serves as co-captain of the Junior Varsity and has recently been brought up to Varsity in their post-season. A pre-IB student and a positive role model, Shaq has participated locally in AAU, the Hi-Toms League and Colt ball. He has also battled leukemia this year.
