UNCG Men’s Golf in First Through Two Rounds at Elon Invitational
BURLINGTON, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team stands atop the leaderboard through two rounds at the Elon Invitational on Monday in Burlington, North Carolina, at Alamance Country Club.
TEAM
UNCG carded a 13-under-par (555) with rounds of 275-280 on Monday.
East Carolina is behind the Spartans in second place with a six-under-par (562).
The Spartans are one of five teams out of the 18-team field that sits with an under-par score.
Host school Elon is in fourth place with a two-under-par (566), just behind third-place Middle Tennessee with a three-under-par (565).
INDIVIDUAL
B.J. Boyce leads the Spartans and is in a tie for seventh place behind rounds of 66-72 for a four-under-par (138).
Kelvin Hernandez follows closely behind Boyce to sit in a tie for 10th place with a three-under-par (139) after notching 72-67 rounds.
Freshman Jake Lewis is in 14th place with a two-under-par (140) after recording two consecutive rounds of one-under-par (70) for a new career round low.
Colin Dutton is just behind Lewis in 15th place with a one-under-par. Dutton shot a four-under-par (67) in round one and a three-over-par (74) in round two.
Dutton’s 67 was a career best as a Spartans for the senior transfer.
Keenan Royalty and Jack Marcotte both stand in a tie for 40th place with a four-over-par (146).
Will Guidry is in a tie for 51st place behind a five-over-par (147).
Andrew Graham rounds out the scorecard for the Spartans standing in a tie for 85th place with a nine-over-par (151). Graham recorded a 12-over-par (83) before coming back out in the second round to post a three-under-par (68). Graham’s 68 second round was his UNCG career best.

The Spartans will close out the third and final round of the Elon Invitational on Tuesday with an 8:00 a.m. start off holes one and ten at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina.
