In what is shaping up to be a very competitive three way race for the Central Piedmont 4A Conference, the top three teams in East Forsyth, Mount Tabor and West Forsyth all grabbed convincing wins Friday Night.
First, Mt. Tabor traveled to Glenn High School and knocked off the Bobcats 51-6. It was human highlight reel “Snook” Peterkin accounting for 4 Tabor touchdowns. His first touchdown came less than two minutes into the second quarter when he returned a Glenn punt to the house from 45 yards away to make it 14-0. On the next Tabor possession, Peterkin, who was now at quarterback, scrambled for a 22 yard touchdown run to make it 20-0. The next Tabor possession saw Peterkin throw a 18 yard touchdown pass to Zion Thompson to make it 26-0. His final touchdown came in the fourth quarter when he rushed in from 9 yards outs. Fellow Tabor wide receiver Jayden Muhfooth caught two touchdown passes of 64 and 15 yards.
East Forsyth stayed perfect on the season with a 61-14 win over the host Demons of R.J Reynolds. Future Carolina Tar Heel quarterback Brice Baker looked fantastic and the run game for the Eagles got the job done while the Eagles scored 38 by halftime.
Finally, West Forsyth stayed just a game back by defeating Davie High School 48-10 at home with two games remaining in the 2024 regular season.
