Cowboy Nation,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as head football coach at Southwest Guilford High. I have truly enjoyed every moment that I have been here but all good things come to an end. I would like to thank Dr. Angela Monell and AD Brindon Christman for the opportunity to be a part of this great school and community. I have enjoyed the relationships that have been built with our young men and their families. As a coach, you hold so many different titles and each of them mean a little something different, but they all hold the same importance.
I want to thank my coaching staff for their unwavering support and commitment to this program. Thank you for the countless amounts of hours and preparation that you put in year-round and I am truly grateful to have been surrounded by a solid group of men. You guys have made me better by challenging the why and then supporting my vision. It wasn’t always smooth at times but we made it work.
To my team, thank you. You are a group of winners on and off the field, you all have made me a better teacher of the game for sure and I look forward to see your growth in the next phase of life. Keep being young men of great character, strong academically, coachable and respectful…those are the keys to your success. Remember what I said, “never let your talent be a roadblock to your success.” Be great every day and great things will happen.
This is not the end of my coaching career just a small layover to see what God has on the next leg of my flight called life. Thank you for the lessons and the memories!!
