Wesleyan Christian Academy Honors First Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
High Point, NC – Wesleyan Christian Academy is excited to announce the inaugural class of its
Athletic Hall of Fame, honoring 17 distinguished alumni and coaches whose athletic and leadership
contributions have left a lasting legacy at the school. These inductees represent excellence in their
sports while reflecting Wesleyan’s mission to “know and live the truth” of Christ in their lives.
The 2024 inductees were officially announced during Homecoming on October 4, 2024, with the
formal induction ceremony scheduled for Friday December 13, 2024.
The 2024 inductees include:
Patrick Bailey (Class of 2017) – A two-time state champion in baseball (2016, 2017), Bailey’s
leadership at Wesleyan propelled him to further success at NC State (2017-2020) and in Major
League Baseball with the San Francisco Giants (2023-2024). Bailey credits Wesleyan’s caring
staff and faith-based environment for helping him grow as a follower of Christ.
Brandt Bronico (Class of 2013) – A soccer standout, Bronico earned numerous accolades,
including All-American honors and NC Player of the Year. His career continued at UNC
Charlotte (2013-2016) and in Major League Soccer with Chicago Fire FC (2017-2020) and
Charlotte FC (2021-present). Bronico reflects on how Wesleyan deepened his understanding of
God’s word and his commitment to glorifying Him.
Brenda Cook (Coach, 1981-2005) – Cook, a revered coach across volleyball, basketball, and
softball, led her teams to multiple conference championships and two volleyball state titles. She
was named Coach of the Year in volleyball, basketball, and softball throughout her 23-year
tenure. Cook’s impact as a physical education teacher and coach continues to be felt in the
Wesleyan community.
Jeffrey Curtis (Coach, 1999-2012) – As the founder of Wesleyan’s wrestling program, Curtis
led the team to its first state championship in 2011 and coached 18 individual state champions.
Curtis’s faith was strengthened through his work with student-athletes, and he remains thankful
for witnessing God’s work in their lives.
Scott Davis (Coach, 2002-2019) – A longtime coach of varsity baseball, Davis helped shape
Wesleyan’s baseball program into a powerhouse. While he remains humble about his personal
accomplishments, Davis expresses gratitude for the relationships formed during his time at
Wesleyan.
Brad Ehrman (Coach, 1985-2002) – Leading varsity boys basketball to three state titles,
Ehrman also served as athletic director and coached multiple sports. Under his guidance,
Wesleyan teams became renowned for their discipline and Christ-centered approach to
athletics.
Lindsay Hall (Class of 2002; Coach, 2008-2013) – Hall, a two-time state volleyball champion,
returned to Wesleyan as a coach after a successful playing career at Greensboro College. She
later became a varsity volleyball coach at Westchester Country Day School, earning conference
Coach of the Year honors.
Jennifer Ludemann (Class of 2009) – Ludemann was a soccer and basketball standout at
Wesleyan, earning All-State and team MVP honors. Her soccer career continued at UNC
Wilmington (2009-2013) before she played professionally in Finland and with the Charlotte
Eagles. Ludemann now coaches youth soccer and works at SOCCER.COM.
Kelly McLaughlin (Class of 1996) – An 8-time state champion swimmer, McLaughlin also
competed in triathlons and UCI Cyclocross. She was a member of UNC’s varsity swim team
from 1996-2000 and has achieved elite-level success in multiple sports.
Wil Myers (Class of 2009) – A key player in Wesleyan’s 2008 state championship baseball
team, Myers went on to enjoy a successful Major League Baseball career, including stints with
the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres (2013-2023).
Theo Pinson (Class of 2014) – A two-time state basketball champion and McDonald’s
All-American, Pinson continued his career at the University of North Carolina, where he won a
national championship in 2017. He is also a former NBA player.
David Sanford (Coach, 1982-1999) – Sanford’s soccer teams reached 13 state finals, winning
9 championships. He was recognized as the NSCAA National Private/Parochial Coach of the
Year in 1994 and impacted many lives as a coach, teacher and administrator at Wesleyan.
Jamath Shoffner (Class of 1996) – A four-time state soccer champion, Shoffner went on to play
professionally in Europe and coach on the international stage. His coaching experience includes
roles with the Luxembourg National Team and Charlotte FC.
Alexandra White (Class of 2019) – A swimming and cross-country standout, White was a state
champion and set multiple varsity records at Wesleyan. She continued her success at Kenyon
College, becoming an NCAA national champion and record holder, before joining UNC Chapel
Hill’s swim team.
Aaron Wiggins (Class of 2018) – Wiggins, a top 50 basketball player nationally, led Wesleyan
to consecutive state championship appearances and earned All-Conference MVP honors. He
played at the University of Maryland and now plays in the NBA for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Weston Wilson (Class of 2013) – A baseball star at Wesleyan, Wilson continued his career at
Clemson University before playing for the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies. His faith
continues to guide him through his professional journey.
Davis Womble (Class of 2012) – A golf prodigy, Womble won a state championship in 2010
and was a six-time All-State player. He went on to play for Wake Forest University’s golf team,
further solidifying his legacy in the sport.
