With the night’s contest, it was the 56th time the two faced off. The Quakers extend their lead in the series 49-8 and with this win, GC’s record improves in the Mathews-era against Randolph to 3-4. Guilford now rises to an 11-4 overall record, 5-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) while Randolph falls to 7-8, 2-4 in the ODAC.

Stars for the night included McMillan, who had 18 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, and two assists, Dunn, who scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists, and recorded one steal, and Furr, who contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal. Julianna Walter (Taylorsville, N.C.) also ended the night with eight points while matching her career-high in rebounds with six.

Statistical leaders for the Wildcats included Kylie Stark, who ended with a baker’s dozen in points along with six boards, a block, and a steal, Maddie Pabon, finishing with ten points alongside four rebounds and two blocks, and Teniyah Crenshaw-Patterson, who finished with eight points and three blocks.

McMillan got the ball rolling for GC as the first six points for the Quakers belonged to her due to her scoring multiple layups in the paint and contributing with crucial steals and rebounds. Dunn also stepped up, adding key jumpers and providing defensive pressure. Stark made significant contributions, opening the scoring and later sinking a three-pointer to keep the Wildcats within striking distance. Simone Brown showcased her efforts in the paint with a layup, while Imani Hardin capped the quarter with a critical basket to narrow the gap. Zoe Bayer (Les Sables d’Olonne, France) and Walter chimed in by adding layups and a end-of-quarter three-pointer to make the first quarter 17-11 in favor of the home team. Guilford concluded the first with eight points off turnovers and 12 points in the paint.

In the second, Briahna Scott (Graham, N.C.) contributed with defensive rebounds and assists while McMillan continued to make her presence in the paint instrumental with timely layups and steals. Dunn added a clutch three-pointer, keeping Guilford’s foot on the gas. Brown’s hustle on defense and assists set up critical scoring opportunities, while Pabon showcased her scoring ability, including a fastbreak layup late in the quarter. Despite RC’s efforts, GC’s consistent ball movement, defensive pressure, and five points off turnovers kept them in control as they widened the gap heading into halftime.

For the third, none other than McMillan had motion with multiple layups throughout, defensive rebounds, and a breakaway layup. Furr added fuel to the fire with a strong inside presence, contributing with a block, assists, and scoring in the paint. Dunn also made an impact off the bench, hitting a three-pointer and a 15-footer. The Wildcats struggled to maintain possession and capitalize on scoring opportunities. The Quakers ended with ten bench points and 14 points in the paint. Taniya Jackson and Pabon attempted to slow GC’s run with Jackson scoring inside and Pabon connecting on a three-pointer, but their efforts flopped. Defensive plays by Stark helped Randolph in transition, but the Quakers’ presence was no match, leaving the score to be 57-31.

Furr played a pivotal role in the final quarter, contributing consistent scoring down low along with steals, while Dunn and Hannah Ajayi (Chapel Hill, N.C.) made crucial shots, including a key three-pointer each. Stark stood out with sharp shooting, including multiple three-pointers. Although the Wildcats put up a valiant effort, the Quakers’ balanced attack and solid defense secured the 77-52 victory.
