from Enad Haddad with a special press release for GreensboroSports.com:
Former Northwest Guilford standout, Bristol Carter is continuing to make a difference on and off the field. During his baseball career at Northwest, Carter was named a 2023 First Team High School All-American, earned North Carolina 4A First Team All-State honors three times and batted .546 his senior campaign with 59 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 60 runs scored, 34 RBI, 50 stolen bases.
Bristol’s strong senior season resulted in receiving the ABCA Rawlings All American award. Additionally, he earned four varsity letters as a member of the Northwest Guilford football program where he secured first team all-state football accolades as a sophomore, junior and senior. Bristol led the conference in interceptions his freshman season and tallied 1,801receiving yards and 23 touchdowns during his career. After turning down MLB draft offers in the summer of 2023, Carter continued his baseball career at East Carolina.
In his freshman season for the Pirates he ranked second on the team in batting average with a .346 average in 56 games and 46 starts. He was named Second Team Freshman All-America and to the AAC All-Freshman Team. In the summer of 2024, Carter played in the prestigious Cape Cod baseball league where prior to an injury he played in 17 games, had a batting average of .293 and collected 10 stolen bases. During the same summer, Carter entered the transfer portal and selected Auburn University where he will begin his sophomore season this spring in the extremely competitive SEC. Carter says, “ I love it here. The people are great, the campus and community are very welcoming. It was a fit from the start. This team is a family and I am ready to play some SEC baseball.”
At Auburn, Carter is a part of the fourth ranked transfer portal class in the nation on a team that has played in the College World Series 2 of the last 5 seasons. “This team has been working hard. We had a good fall and we are ready. This ballpark and the renovations are great; War Eagle wall seats in left field, Hall of Fame Club, Home Plate Club and a new locker room. I can’t wait for first pitch.”
The team’s motto is to go MAD, make a difference, and with opening day less than a week away, the Auburn Tigers are poised to make a difference on the field. With an initiative led by Carter and his teammate they will be making a difference off the field as well. Carter started BC5 Foundation, a non profit organization whose mission is to make a difference in the lives of those in need. The foundation is committed to raising funds and awareness for various charitable causes that support communities and provide essential resources. BC5 Foundation will host projects throughout the year to support the needs of other charities and groups. Visit the foundation’s website at www.bc5foundation.org.
The first project to launch this spring is called Hits and Sits, an Auburn baseball fundraiser led by Carter and Auburn teammate and pitcher, John Armstrong. In a partnership with Children’s of Alabama, Hits and Sits allows game day sponsors to choose a sponsorship level based on their favorite moments of the game. Each sponsorship level has a one time donation and then a donation based on game day performance. There are sponsorship levels for singles, doubles, triples, home runs and strikeouts. With this initiative, every cheer for the Auburn baseball team will echo beyond Plainsman Park and into the lives of those who need it most. Carter says, “This isn’t just about baseball – this is about making a difference on and off the field.”
The team looks forward to visiting Children’s of Alabama on their off days, meeting the children and their families and helping make a difference in the community.
