Spearheading the Quakers was Gavin Brown (Charleston, S.C.), who started the season strong, tallying two goals and one assist off five shots, all on target. Jacob Mills (Culpeper, Va.) and Bashwyn Fitch (Charleston, S.C.) each contributed a brace. Freshman Miles Glass (Greensboro, N.C.) made the most of his collegiate debut, securing one goal and one assist. Davis Polombo (Greensboro, N.C.) followed in Glass’ footsteps, securing his first collegiate goal as well. Veteran Aimery Workman (High Point, N.C.) wasted no time getting back to his scoring ways, adding one goal and one assist. Seth Woods (Hilton Head Island, S.C.), Cam Walters (Greensboro, N.C.), and Drew Sizemore (Greensboro, N.C.) each scored once. Greensboro was led by Justin Berry, who notched a hat trick. Chas Gilroy added two goals, while teammate DiMaggio Wilson tallied one.

River Hull (Lexington, Va.) went 10-for-15 in the faceoff circle with six ground balls while Glass, Jason Campbell (Fairfax, Va.), and Mills each contributed with a hat-trick of turnovers.

Guilford established dominance very early on with five unanswered goals in the first quarter. Workman put the Quakers on the board at the 13:11 mark with an unassisted, man-up goal. Minutes later, Glass doubled the lead with a shorthanded tally before Sizemore and Brown found the back of the net in quick succession. Mills capped off the dominant first period with a goal in the final seven seconds of play, assisted by Glass, giving GC a commanding 5-nil advantage.

The second quarter saw Greensboro respond with urgency, netting five goals between the 9:16 and 4:39 mark, giving the Pride hope leading into the half. Fitch scored twice in the frame, keeping the Quakers ahead 7-5 at the half.

Emerging from halftime with renewed defensive intensity, the Quakers limited the Pride to just one goal and 12 shots total over the final two quarters. The Quakers extended their lead in the third when Woods scored off a helper provided by Workman. Barry completed his hat-trick for Greensboro at the 7:14 mark, but Guilford countered with a man-up goal from Mills and a shorthanded strike by Walters to take a 10-6 advantage into the final quarter of gameplay.

Guilford sealed the victory with two fourth-quarter goals. Brown netted his second goal of the game at 3:39, and Palombo delivered the final dagger off an assist from Brown, notching his first collegiate goal. The Quakers’ defense held firm in the closing minutes, stifling any hopes of a comeback.

Guilford looks to build on this strong start as they prepare for their first home game of the season on February 15, 2025, against Marymount University in a non-conference matchup. Start time is set for 1:00 P.M.
