The Bishop McGuinness Villains took on rival Winston-Salem Prep in the Northwest Piedmont tournament semi-final and overcame a tough start to earn a nice win. Defense and a balanced scoring effort were key for the Villains as they held Prep to single-digit scoring in 2 quarters and had 8 total scorers.

Senior Nicholas Graves helped to seal the game for the Villains pouring in 10 points in the 4th quarter, finishing with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Junior Thomas Thompson had a huge effort on the offensive glass and finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Forward Alex Waterfield added 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Bishop will head to the conference championship game which will take place at Winston-Salem Prep on Friday night.
