NCHSAA 3-A Men’s Championship Game:Smith Golden Eagles(28-3) vs. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability/Southern Durham Spartans(30-2) at 8:35pm, in the LJVM Coliseum, Winston-Salem, N.C.
Hoping to get the Pregame rolling for you on GreensboroSports Radio at around 7:45pm…We have our “Road to Winston-Salem” report with former Smith coaches Reggie Peace and Hank Bullard, and then we join current Smith mentor and head coach Derrick Partee…Check it out tonight with the Pregame and the Game on GreensboroSports Radio…
Should see Ben L. Smith starting Tayshawn Mann, Micah Cowan, Kenny Miller Jr., Jyi Dawkins, and Ty’sere Payne….Very tall Smith lineup, with their smallest man, at 6’1…From the Smith top reserves, you’ll see plenty of minutes and playing time for major contributors, Kadyn Turner-Scott, Galvin Palmore, and Kendrick Johnson…
Top scorers for SSES are Jackson Keith, at 24.5 points per game, A.J. Morman Jr. goes at 14.9 ppg, and then Dwight Vincent checks in at 9.9 ppg…Keith is also the team’s top rebounder at 6.9 boards per game…Morman there with 4.9 assists per game, and Keith shooting 78% from the Free Throw Line…Morman hitting at 39 % from Three-Point Range…Keith, a senior for sure the Spartans top scorer, and Morman, a freshman, does a lot of things for Southern Durham too…
In their East Regional Finals game, SSES, got past Swansboro, 78-65, while Smith was taking down Hunter Huss, 71-57…
Both Smith and Southern Durham will be looking to get off to a very good start in this game…Much tougher to mount those huge comebacks, and get back in the game after being behind in these Championship settings….
Best of Luck to the Smith Golden Eagles, as they go for The Gold tonight in Winston-Salem.
