Final Scores from Sunday afternoon at First National Bank Field:
Game One of the Doubleheader:Greensboro Grasshoppers 9, WS Dash 8
Game Two of the Doubleheader:Greensboro Grasshoppers 3, WS Dash 1
Highlights from the Game One 9-8 victory include a Grand Slam LONG GONE Home Run for the Hoppers’ Enmanuel Terrero, and a solo LONG GONE Home Run from Keiner Delgado that tied the game 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning…Kalae Harrison came up with a Walk-Off single that scored Maikol Escotto as the game winning run, there in final frame…
Our REMAX Revolution Players of the Game were, Terrero, Delgado, Escotto, and Harrison…Terrero had the Grand Slam HR, Degado the Game Tying HR, Escotto was 4-4/3 Doubles/3 Runs/SB, Harrison walked it off, with his Game-Winning Single…Harrions went 2-3/BB/2 Runs/RBI…With the Hoppers down, 8-7, in the bottom of that Game-Changing seventh inning, Degado’s Game-Tying HR to right field, came with his count at 1-2, with the two outs…How he came through, it was like watching LONG GONE on the CBS News, all night long, with Connie Chong…
Ms. Chong was a great CBS news reporter, and she would have made this game-ending drama, a real interesting CBS Nightly News feature…Two outs, and the Hoppers had led 5-0, lost the lead to the Dash, as Winston-Salme took that 8-7 lead to bottom of the seventh, in the game’s final frame…But, the Greensboro Grasshoppers had no quit in them, on Sunday afternoon, at FNB Field…
On the LONG GONE Baseball Radio Network, what we saw on Sunday, what we saw was CCCCCrazy….A Grand Slam home run, and the game-tying home run, and again, that is CCCCCCrazy as, The Hoppers Win, Hoppers Win, Hoppers Win, Hoppes Win Again…
WP:Landon Tomkins(1-0)/LP:Clete Hartzog(1-1)…Hartzog, as far as we know, no relation to the great, Whitey Herzog…And WS Dash skipper, Pay Leyland, not sure if he is related to Jimmy/Jim Leyland…

Highlights from Game Two of the Hoppers’ 3-1 win, over the WS Dash….In Game Two of the Sunday doubleheader from FNB Field, the WS Dash grabbed a 1-0 on the second pitch of the ballgame…Sam Antonacci from the Dash was the very first batter of Game Two, and on pitch number two, Antoacci drilled the ball out of the park, for a solo home run to field…
The Dash’ 1-0 lead held up until the fourth inning, and that’s when the LONG GONE Baseball Radio Network, started yelling, That Sucka’s LONG GONE again…It was Solo HR to left field, off of the bat of Esmerlyn Valdez that left the yard, and that tied the game up a 1 a-piece…
And Valdez says, “I aint done yet Sucka” and sure enough he has the stuff, much like Buff, Bagwell that is from ‘back in the day’….So with the game all tied up at 1-1, Dash and Hoppers/Hoppers and Dash, in with Lonnie White reaching base on a single to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning, and with one out in the seventh, here comes Valdez to the plate, and it is getting late, and we need to get this thing straight…
So what does Valez do??? He a REAL deep Line Drive to left field, and that ball is Going, Going, Going, and that Sucka is LONG GONE….LONG GONE Hoppers for the fourth time on the day for the Greensboro Grasshoppers…Valdez has put the Greensboro Grasshoppers in front, 3-1, and with Connor Oliver pitching, the Hoppers take that 3-2 advantage to the Top of the Seventh Inning, where Oliver came with his left-hand stuff, and for another time, it was just enough…Oliver gave up one hit in the seventh, but gave up No More ground…
Also solid work from Hoppers starter in Game Two, Garrett McMillan, gave up one run on on two hits, and that was the Antonacci homer, and McMillan went 3 2/3s Innings….
The Grasshoppers and Oliver close out the WS Dash, and the Hoppers take the Weekly Series with the Dash, Four-Games-to-Two…The Hoppers now lead the Season Series with the Dash, Nine-Games-to-Three…Hoppers have the Dash, and Greensboro has been able to CASH in, and avoid the Dash rash…

Game Two Top Players…..Esmerlyn Valdez with the two HRs, and the Game-Winner in the bottom of the Sixth Inning…Also Connor Oliver, who got the Win on the mound for the Grasshoppers in relief…Oliver goes a long Three Innings, allowing 0 Runs, on 1 Hit, with 0 BBs/3 Ks…You got them, Valdez and Oliver for your REMAX Revolution Players of the Game, and the Play of the Game was the Valdez line drive Home Run to left field…
