GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College football season is swiftly approaching as the Quakers have finalized their 2025 schedule, as announced by the Guilford College Athletics Department.

Fresh off their highest win total since 2018, completing 2024 with a 3-7 mark although 0-7 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play, the cardinal and grey have their sights set on increasing their season win total for the fourth time over the past five seasons.

“We as a staff are excited to be getting the 2025 season kicked off,” Head Coach Brad Davis said. “The guys had a great off-season in the weight room as well as on the field. Being able to start the season under the lights against crosstown rival Greensboro College, is by far the best way to start a season as a tremendous matchup both on the field, and for the Greensboro community. We are hoping to get into a good rhythm throughout the early part of the schedule and carry that rhythm into ODAC play.”

Guilford Athletics is proud to partner with HomeTown Tickets for all football ticketing once again this season. Ticket availability will be a rolling process beginning with the premium season tickets and home season tailgating pass renewal period from June 23rd through June 29th. Access to purchase premium season tickets and home season tailgating passes for Quaker Club members only will be June 30th through July 6th. Finally, from July 7th on, premium season tickets and home season tailgating passes will be available to the general public, with season general admission and single game tickets also becoming available on that date. For the fourth consecutive year, Guilford will open their season slate opposite crosstown rival, Greensboro College with this year being the Quakers turn to host the 25th annual Soup Bowl under the lights of Appenzeller Field. The nonconference foes are set to clash on Saturday, September 6th with kickoff set for 7:00 PM. Winners of the last eight Soup Bowls, the cardinal and grey look to maintain their upper-hand against the Pride, against whom they have gone 16-8 against, winning all four bouts in the Brad Davis Era.

Guilford follows that up with their second, and final, in-state bout when they hit the road for the first time, venturing down to Fayetteville, North Carolina to matchup with Methodist University on Saturday, September 13th at 6:00 PM. GC came away victorious in this matchup of Tar Heel State foes in 2024, and are 22-12 all-time against the Monarchs.

It will be league play the rest of the way for the Quakers, and that will start with a road trip to visit Washington & Lee University and their triple-option offense. Guilford eyes their first win over the Generals since pre-COVID on Saturday, September 20th with kickoff in Lexington, Virginia, set for 4:00 PM.

Returning to the friendly confines of Appenzeller Field for a Homecoming Weekend clash, GC welcomes their most frequent opponent in program history to their turf on Saturday, September 27th when Hampden-Sydney College comes to Greensboro. The 75th all-time clash between these foes is set for a 1:00 PM kickoff on the celebratory weekend on campus.

For just the second time in program history, and the first time since 1948, Guilford squares off with Gallaudet University, welcoming GU to the ODAC when they open their October slate of contests. Victorious in their lone previous clash, the Quakers head north to GU on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 PM.

Shenandoah University will be next for the Quakers as the youngest rivalry on their 2025 schedule. Holding a 4-8 edge since the team’s first played in 2012, the Hornets will make the trip to Greensboro this year after featuring the league’s number-two scoring offense and defense last fall, and while they have won their last six over GC, many of those have proven difficult for SU. The conference clash will be played on Saturday, October 11th at 1:00 PM.

Hosting consecutive contests for the only time in 2025, Guilford welcomes three-time reigning ODAC Champions, Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, October 18th with kickoff at 1:00 PM. Winners of 25-straight conference clashes, the Yellow Jackets have won nine in-a-row over the Quakers, but GC will have their shot to snap both skids against the league’s top defense from 2024 when they play in week seven.

The cardinal and grey close the month with their bye week on October 25th.

Guilford will have their turn to welcome to Roanoke College to the ODAC out of the bye as they battle the second of two squads playing their inaugural season in the conference. The Maroons are playing their second season since 1942, and first varsity campaign in that span, and are getting set for their triumphant first season in the ODAC in 2025. With their return to play, RC actually becomes the oldest active foe for Guilford, having first played in 1919, and they also immediately claim the top spot for longest active winning streak with ten-straight over the Quakers, and 0-12-1 overall, although all of those matchups came prior to 1942. GC will eyer their first win over RC on Saturday, November 1st at 1:00 PM.

It will be a big weekend on campus on Saturday, November 8th when Guilford first inducts their 56th Hall of Fame class, and later play Route-29 rivals, Averett University at 3:00 PM. With the came coming down to the closing seconds last season, GC did drop their second-straight to the Cougars last season but are 1-2 opposite AU under Coach Brad Davis.

Rounding out their 2025 regular season, GC visits Bridgewater College at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 15th. The conference’s top offense in 2024, BC has won six-straight over the Quakers, although GC holds the all-time edge, 26-24.
