Three From Women’s Golf Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf senior Ava Romfo as well as sophomores Elle Burnette and Kasey McIlvaine were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly CoSIDA, Academic All-District® Women’s At-Large Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in 70% of their team’s total varsity events that included team scores.
UNCG finished fifth or better in nine of its 12 total events this season. The Spartans won their first tournament since the 2011-12 season after placing first in the Puerto Rico Shootout in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on March 6.
The Spartans also earned a runner-up finish hosting the UNCG Collegiate from Oct. 21-22, which saw Romfo win the individual title.
From The Southern Conference (SoCon), 31 student-athletes appeared on the women’s team, including six from Furman, six from Mercer, six from VMI, six from Wofford, two from Western Carolina and two from Chattanooga.

Two From Men’s Golf Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors
CSC Announces Academic All-District Awards
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Colin Dutton and Kelvin Hernandez of the UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men’s golf team have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, announced by the organization on Tuesday.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and need to be in the lineup for 70% of rounds that include team scores.

UNCG finished in second place in the 2025 SoCon Championships with an overall score of 18-under-par (846) behind rounds of 277-285-284. The Spartans carded four first-place finishes on the 2024-25 season. UNCG finished first at the Sea Palms Invitational on March 15, 2025, the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 25, 2025, the Elon Invitational on Oct. 15, 2024, and the Bryan National Collegiate on Sept. 10, 2024. This is the first time in UNCG men’s golf program history the team collected four regular season tournament wins.
