Thursday Night Football in Focus Show with Week One of the new high school football season, and gonna look at lot of local games tonight, Cardinal Gibbons at Dudley with Coach Randy Norris, the Northern Guilford Nighthawks at Reidsville Rams game with the NG players, QB Jaxson Kemp, OL Sam Bagley, and RB Amare Akers…Plus we will breakdown the Northeast Guilford at Morehead game with Jay Ramey from ROKO Radio up in Rockingham County, then we will close it out with Bryant Roche, from the News and Record looking to Grimsley vs. West Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium….and other games too, with Bryant Roche…
First Up Coach Norris and he will be with us for the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders at the Dudley Panthers on Friday night…It is like a whole new look for Dudley…Full time, after being Co-QB last Braden Jeffries takes over, and there may not be another player in the county, who is needed to lead and carry his team like Jeffries will be…So much riding how Braden Jeffries can lead the Dudley Panthers to success, and I think he can do it…Robert McCollum on defense at LB will be the defensive leader…LONG GONE are WRs Nasir Newkirk, CJ Neely, Kordell Bartley, Antonio Lee, Jerron Blackwell and RBs CJ Southern and Jaden Brown, as those guys graduated, and also gone from the offense are QB Jaquez Crawford, RB Rayshawn Wilson, and WR/DB Dre Deese and the last three guys ended up out at Northeast Guilford HS, with Coach Antonio Hall and the Rams..Coach Hall the OC for the Dudley the past several seasons…And that’s just the Offense..Defense is rebuilding some too…
Here is what we have on Cardinal Gibbons….15 returning starters….State Semifinalist the past two seasons at 4-A level….Here are the key Cardinal Gibbons players…Offense:Ganon Jones (QB): Returning for his senior year, Jones is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the state.Aiden Cranic (OL): A returning starter on the offensive line…Braden Carris (WR): A key receiver with soft hands, athleticism, and strong route-running ability…Conor McGeehan (WR): Another returning starter at wide receiver..Noah Terry & Aaron Anderson: Both played running back last year and are expected to contribute.Jackson Monzies (OL): Returning starter on the offensive line.Kevin Walsh (OL): A player who saw significant playing time last year…So what say you, who will this game???

On my chalkboard, my difference for Grimsley is the wide receiver room…All the wide receivers are back…Kaden Catoe, Hudson Cooper, Khyan Battle, Patrick Carter, and the TE DJ Howerton is back too…Dudley with Newkirk, Neely, Bartley, Lee, and Blackwell was loaded at WR last year, but Grimsley has the top QB in the state, and the man many feel to be the top high school QB in the country, Faizon Brandon…But we have to keep in mind, those FIVE Grimsley receivers are getting better every week…Grimsley with the Big Strong Offensive Line led by APP State commit, Nick Kashubara…Again, who does Bryant Roche take, Grimsley or West Charlotte…And we are talking to Bryant Roche, not BB Shea, who is probably somewhere eating a hot dog for his next review…
