High School Football Tonight in and around Guilford County
(Another big night for high school football again tonight, with teams taking to the fields all over the place)…
Grimsley(1-0) at West Forsyth(1-0)…7:30pm
Grimsley highly tested last week and West Forsyth should give Grimsley a good game this week…Look for Faizon Brandon to continue to build up this team, and for him to find his receivers open for solid gains, all night long…Micah Williams and Ty Shoemake should become/provide a good 1-2 punch at RB this season…
East Forsyth(1-0) at Northern Guilford(1-0)…7:30pm
Northern needs to win this game, and prove that what they did at Reidsville last week was what fans should expect all year long…RB Amare Akers very productive in Game One, and we should more of that from him, in Game Two…Watch for Jaxson Kemp to have a breakout game, and it should be coming soon…EF very tough opponent, but Northern is in a peak seaon, and they are not peeking ahead…Gonna be doing it, one Friday at a time….
Northwest Guilford(1-0) at Page(0-1) 7pm
Very good showing by NWG last week, vs. Western Alamance, with QB Ferrell Price and WR Rakem Hammock connecting on several occasions, and we should more of that tonight…Page has the athletes, but there may not be enough of to go around…NWG has a good balance of running and passing…Watch for Price to go long, so he can see how Page adjusts….Williamson at QB, Poole at RB, Poindexter at WR/DB, but these kids might get tired and there is a lot of running and focusing, as Page prepares to get as down and dirty as the ground allows…NWG will a load of weapons, and it is time for both teams, to turn it loose…We will have this game for you as our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week, on GreensboroSports Radio…Click on GreensboroSports Radio and you are there at the game, from the Marion Kirby Stadium, on the Page HS campus…

Williams was very tough in the JV game, played just last night, and EG is coming at it strong..EG Wildcats feeling good about matching Williams in this inter-county battle…Steady passing and running for East in Game One last week, and the ‘Cats are looking to make it grow this week…
Eastern Alamance(0-1) at Northeast Guilford(1-0)…7:30pm
EA has long-time head coach John Kirby back and NEG has new first-year head coach Antonio Hall…Good matchup brewing here…NEG very tough in Game One win over Morehead…
Ragsdale(0-1) at Southeast Guilford(1-0)…7:30pm
SEG put up something like 375 yards rushing last week, with Caleb Jackson and Motley getting the most of those yards for Falcons..SEG can run it forever, if what they are doing keeps on working…The SEG running game is very potent, and the Falcons will feed and fuel off of their runs…
Southern Guilford(1-0) at Smith(0-0) 7pm…Anybody’s ball game right here, as the Southern Guilford Storm continue to grow and are getting used to running that Coach Garrett Mills offense, and with RJ Scott and Seth Davis back there at key spots on the offense, the word is GO for the SG Storm…Nice win last week with SG over Ragsdale…We are getting ready to find out what Smith has for this season…We will also have this game for you on GreensboroSports Radio…Demetri Morrison at the helm for this GreensboroSports Radio broadcast….
Southeast Raleigh(1-0) at Dudley(0-1) 7pm
Dudley trying to rebound after losing to another Raleigh-based team last week, with Cardinal Gibbons coming into Tarpley Stadium, and the Cardinals took the Panthers to the woodshed…If SE Raleigh is anything like Cardinal Gibbons, it could be another long night for the Panthers…SE Raleigh put up 50 points on Raleigh Enloe last week…Dudley has to get its passing going, so it can really get its running going…
Western Guilford(0-1) at High Point Central(0-1) 7pm
Right at 316 yards rushing for WG last week, in the Hornets loss to Southeast Guilford…171 yards rushing for QB Caleb Moore, 96 yards for RB Timothy Baker, and CJ Blevins was right around 48 yards rushing for Western…Got to think WG will stick with that run game, and that the Hornets have a nice edge in this contest…
High Point Andrews(1-0) at North Forsyth(0-1) 7pm
Andrews with a win in Week One over Thomasville, and that is usually a Quality Win for the HP Andrews Red Raiders…Take all wins that you can…Andrews will favored to win again this week, and then they can take a break for the Holiday Weekend….
Western Alamance(0-1) at Southwest Guilford(0-1) 7pm
WA a quality program and this will be a very Tough Test for the SWG Cowboys…Both teams struggled in Week One, but this is the New Day, and on we go…SWG will soon have to start connecting on some deep balls or we might miss the Cowboys as they hit the main lndidee
High Point Christian(1-0) at Metrolina Academy(0-1) 7pm
Jaylen Moore, Knox Amsterdam, and Toot Clay, and these boys from HPCA can play…HPCA could go very deep, come playoff time in 2025…Lean on HPCA to win this game, as I have seen many teams take away the prizes, and then watch their lesser-known opponet, send them to drawing board…Defense will be the key in this game..
