GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro’s annual Homecoming celebration this weekend encompasses more than 30 events for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members, including two home games and the naming of the Marcus T. Johnson Alumni House.

The three-day celebration runs Friday, Oct. 17–Sunday, Oct. 19, features two home games — men’s soccer and women’s volleyball — as well as receptions, reunions, performances, celebrations, ceremonies, and the annual Homecoming Bonfire on Friday night.

The naming of the Marcus T. Johnson Alumni House, in recognition of a historic gift by UNCG alumnus Marcus T. Johnson, Class of 1999, happens on Saturday before the Spartan Street Fest.

Homecoming 2025 events over the week include:

FRIDAY, Oct. 17
Spartan Family Reception, Elliott University Center, 6 p.m.
Alumni Awards, Elliott University Center Auditorium, 7 p.m.
PERFORMANCE: Count Basie Orchestra, UNCG Auditorium, 8 p.m.
Homecoming bonfire, recreation fields, 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, Oct. 18
UNCG Athletics Hall of Fame, Elliott University Center, 9 a.m.
Minerva’s Mobile Health Unit, Free Flu Shot Clinic, College Avenue, 11 a.m.
Official Naming of the Marcus T. J0hnson Alumni House, 2 p.m.
Spartan Street Fest, College Avenue, 3 p.m.
GAME: UNCG Women’s Volleyball vs. ETSU, Fleming Gymnasium, 5 p.m.
Spartan Family Game Night, Elliott University Center, 6 p.m.
GAME: UNCG Men’s Soccer vs. Wofford College, soccer stadium, 7 p.m.
PERFORMANCE: Association of Grad Students in Dance, Coleman Dance Theatre, 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, Oct. 19
Spartan Family Brunch, Elliott University Center, 10 a.m.
EXHIBITION: “Sunday Best: Celebrating William H. Johnson,” Weatherspoon Art Museum, noon
