High School Football Tonight in and around Guilford County and our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game(s) of the Week

High School Football This Week in and around Guilford County…..

Grimsley(7-0) at Page(5-2) 7pm
What is being said about this game??? Grimsley JVs over Page, 14-12 on Thursday night, but when you step up to the Varsity level, you are talking big differences…Page led that JV game, 12-0, but Grimsley fought back for the win…But now on Friday night, many see Grimsley taking total care of the business at hand…Grimsley passing game, led by freshman QB Brody Lowe, might just be a step or two ahead of the Whirlies running game right now, but sophomore RB Ty Shoemake has been heating up for the Whirlies…The Page passing game, behind soph. QB has also come of age…In two different games, Williamson has thrown for Five TD passes this season…He has very good targets too, in WR Chris Armstrong, WR Marqui Lynch, and WR Kasai Poindexter…Grimsley has more WRs with Hudson Cooper, Kaden Catoe, Khyan Battle, and TE DJ Howerton…That might be Grimsley’s strongest suit, the Whirlies’ receivers…Their defense is very potent too…Coach Norris has the game going Grimsley 49, Page 14…Bryant Roche goes Grimsley 45, Page 10…I had this at Grimsley 42, Page 7…What do others say??? Grimsley still seems way out in front of Page, but this is why they play the games, to see what the REAL outcome will be…

Smith(2-4) at Ragsdale(0-7) 7pm
Very BIG game here, with true playoff implications…Smith could grab their third win of the season, while Ragsdale is still looking for the Tigers first “W” of 2025…Ragsdale has been close to the win column in several of the Tigers recent games, and Smith was within 11 points of the Dudley Panthers two weeks ago…Smith might be best served with the air game, and the most Smith QB was injured, and Darius Chukwumeka took over at QB again…Chuk also plays RB and WR, so he is very much a key man for the Smith offense…QB Sion Stevenson to WR Anthoney Washington is a key hookup for Ragsdale, and the kid Amire Barnes is becoming a bigger RB for Ragsdale..I remember Amire when he was an RB for the Jamestown Middle School Tigers…

Southwest Guilford(1-7) at Dudley(5-3) 7pm
This looks to be all Dudley with QB Brayden Jeffries, RB Michael Boone, the returning WR Vermont Carmack, LB Robert McCollum, DB Jaylen Jones, LB Kamauri Beasley, OL/DL Azhir Waddell and K/P Andre Cummings being very big for Dudley…Return man/WR Kingston Davenport also very important for Dudley…SWG’s QB Emmanuel Martin must be able to roll out and break out of the pocket, because if you stand back in the pocket against Dudley, you will get smashed…TE/DE Wesley Oxce also big, along with Martin for SWG…

Northwest Guilford(1-6) at East Forsyth(4-3) 7pm
Recent injuries combined with a super tough schedule have dampened the NWG Vikings season, and I do think WR Rakem Hammock has been out hurt in recent weeks, and RB Easton Dean, one of the most reliable and dependable Vikings, well Dean has spent time on that injured list too…The IL has been making NWG fans ill…Got to stick with The Process, and what kind of foundation Northwest can lay for the future, in the remaining three weeks of the season…One of the toughest opponents on the Vikes schedule coming up tonight…

High Point Andrews(6-1) at Central Davidson(7-1) 7pm
There has been no letup in the HPA Red Raiders this season…Current QB David Hill took over for the injured Cayden Zellous, and Hill will get another shot with a very strong Central Davidson team looming on the Red Raider schedule tonight…HP will need help from WR Mike Hughes and many other HP Andrews players, and especially Cameron Grimes and his mates on Defense…Going to be a Battle with HPA vs. CD tonight…

Randleman(5-3) at High Point Central(0-7) 7pm
HP Central has still not scored this season, and a team with no points make the football fanatics lose interest as the days get longer…The days will actually get shorter later on, at the end of this month, and for HP Central, the time and the clock, can not move fast enough….Central looking for their first points of the 2025 campaign this evening, as the Tigers and the Bison at it, over at AJ/Tony Simeon Stadium, in High Point…

Southeast Guilford(5-2) at Northeast Guilford(5-2) 7:30pm
Homecoming Night tonight, in one of the last games to played in the current Bill Bookout Stadium…SEG loves that Falcon running game, and last week, Southeast snuck up on Asheboro, and the Falcons threw for two touchdown passes…This could be a big plus for SEG, as this regular season is winding down…SEG has super runners in a healthy Caleb Jackson and RB Travis Motley…Jackson missed last week’s game with an injury sustained in the SEG at Eastern Guilford game…Motley more than filled in, with the Falcons winning at home vs. Asheboro, last Friday evening…If both SEG backs are healthy, then SEG has a solid edge in this game…NEG was playing “Lights Out” defense at Northern Guilford last Friday, and NEG must keep up that same Defensive Tenacity, if the Rams want to celebrate Homecoming in their Happy Home tonight…For NEG is pretty much about the passing game, with Jaquez Crawford and Zorian Campbell getting the full load as the NEG QBs…Campbell the stronger runner, and Crawford the more tout passer of the two…Outstanding NEG pass targets in WRs Aaryn Tate, Brevon Canty, Prince Hansford, and Titus Duff II…On defense for SEG, watch for LBs Terrence Norwood and Amir Lyles…Nice matchup here for our listening audience here on GreensboroSports.com…Again, get with us tonight, LIVE on GreensboroSports Radio.com

Eastern Guilford(4-3) at Asheboro(5-2) 7:30pm
EG has a well-oiled machine with Wildcats’ QB Javion Majette ready to step in, and up, and he is ready to lead his
Wildcats…Majette has several key receivers to get the ball to, in Keyvon Haynes, Evan Burns, and Chance Patton…EG RB Tyler Whaley-Melvin is another force to be aware of, if you are part of the Asheboro Blue Comets…EG relies heavily on those legs of Whaley-Melvin and QB Majette…Eastern counts on LB Samari Smith and DB Robert Quarles to make sure their defense is pushing back, and that they are showing exact resistance…Asheboro with the Brittons, one of them the QB and the other one lines up at RB…Eastern has those receiving weapons and when throw in Whaley-Melvin out of the backfield, Javion Majette has this game in his hands…Handing off to his RB or letting his hands grip that game football and send up and across the field in full flight/force…

Southern Guilford(2-5) at Northern Guilford(6-1) 7:30pm
This game also ready for you on GreensboroSports Radio, with Demetri Morrison at the helm…Southern is trending down a bit, while Northern is in line to be ready to hit the North 40, which means that the NG Nighthawks are just three games away from the jackpot…NG has QB Jaxson Kemp, and if look at the most experienced QBs in Guilford County these days, Jaxon Kemp is your leader in the clubhouse…He has the most tested arm and the most tested running legs of any key QB in the county…RB Amare Akers is no slouch either, plus if you have receivers like Greyson Council and C.J. Morrison on your side, then these two receivers better be ready to go it/the ball and turn it into upfield yardage…Big NG linemen like Sam Bagley, Eddie Geddie and others lead the NG line push, for the First Place spot just on the outside…(And always look back in for extra security)…For Northern Guilford, with two of the top linebackers in the state out there in, Chance Crews and Noah Smith…Crews and Smith, have the sideline-to-sideline LB Routine down pat….Southern Guilford has RB/QB/DB/Do It All, RJ Scott on offense, and Scott was hot, out of the blocks late last Friday afternoon…SG is missing QB Seth Davis, and he would lending help, if he could be here now…

South Wake(0-6) at High Point Christian Academy(7-0) 7pm
HPCA Cougars RB Jaylin Moore the getting most out of his senior season, with well over 1,000 yards on the ground for Moore, in 2025…Moore doing his part in Part I of the Cougars season…Part II is looming for HPCA, with all the work that they have done, to get better and to have a credible overall season in High Pockets…To go along with Moore, HPCA has RB Hez Krider, and Krider is part of Part II for HPCA…HPCA will be ready, and South Wake is your team to beat coming up here again…
