UNCG Women’s Golf Wins UNCG Collegiate
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team concluded the UNCG Collegiate on Tuesday, winning the tournament with round scores of 298-293-294 (885). This is the Spartans’ first win since the Puerto Rico Shootout on March 4, 2025.
TEAM
UNCG took control of the first place spot after ending round two in second place.
The Spartans carded an overall score of 24-over-par (885) behind rounds of 298-293-294.
The Blue & Gold recorded 31 birdies and 176 pars, which paced the field, over the three rounds.
The Spartans had the best average scores on par threes and par fours in the tournament with 3.10 and 4.19, respectively.
INDIVIDUAL
Julia Baeumken finished in third place with an overall score of two-over-par and rounds of 73-72-73. Baeumken was fifth best in the tournament in both par four (4.07) and par five average (4.92).
Chanelle Mwangi tied for fifth place with a four-over-par (220). This is the highest finish of her career with rounds of 74-72-74.
Kasey McIlvaine finished at a tie for 15th place with a nine-over-par (225) after rounds of 75-76-74. McIlvaine was tied for third in par three average shooting an even par on those holes.
Sophie Lauture turned in a final score card of a 12-over-par(228) with rounds of 77-76-75.
Ella Burnette completed the tournament in a tie for 25th place with a 13-over-par score and rounds of 76-77-76(229)
Lulu Letham rounded out the scorecard by moving up 16 spots to a tie for 35th place with a 16-over-par (232).
UP NEXT
The Spartans will be back in action from Feb. 1-3 with the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate at Hammock Creek Golf Course in West Palm, Florida.
