FLEMING GYMNASIUM RENAMED BODFORD ARENA
On Saturday, Nov. 8, Fleming Gymnasium, home to UNCG volleyball, women’s basketball and men’s basketball was renamed to Bodford Arena.
This historic moment for the department was made possible through a transformational $2 million gift from the Bodford family.
This generous support represents the largest unrestricted gift in the history of UNCG Athletics, as well as the first associated with naming a competitive athletic facility.
The University is already familiar with the Bodford name – the Bodford Family Speed, Strength & Conditioning Center was dedicated in October 2020.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
Elon edged UNCG 92-90 in overtime on Saturday during the Spartans’ home opener.
Six Spartans reached double figures, including Donald Whitehead Jr. (18), KJ Younger (16), Clinton Efinda (14), Justin Neely (13), Domas Kauzonas (12) and Lilian Marville (10).
Neely also added 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season and eighth of his career. He was one assist shy of a triple-double, notching nine helpers.
Younger’s 16 points is a new season-high for the freshman.
Efinda scored a career-high 14 points.
