If Wednesday night’s season opener was any indication, the Kiser Middle School girls’ basketball team hasn’t missed a beat. Picking up right where they left off last season, the Kiser girls delivered a commanding performance on their home court, cruising to a 48-7 victory over the visiting Western Guilford Middle School Tigers.
From the opening tip, Kiser controlled the tempo, suffocating the Tigers defensively and executing efficiently on the offensive end. #5 Kennley Dye was the engine for Kiser, leading all scorers with a game-high 14 points. She was supported by a balanced offensive attack that saw #0 Alaysia Simms add 9 points and #3 Trinity Collins chip-in 7 points. Kiser Head Coach Titus Duff praised the squad’s unselfish play and chemistry to kick off the new campaign. “Really happy with the team win tonight,” said Coach Duff following the game. “Kennley, Alaysia, and Trinity all played really well. Good ball movement—happy for them.”
Kiser (1-0), coming off an undefeated season a year ago, looks like it has the same lofty goals for the 2025-26 season.
