It was a night of dramatic finishes and shifting momentum in Kernersville on Tuesday, as the Eastern Guilford Wildcats visited Glenn High School for a non-conference doubleheader. Girls Basketball: Glenn 47, Eastern Guilford 46
Glenn held the advantage early, taking a four-point 16-12 lead into halftime. However, Eastern Guilford came out of the locker room on fire. The Wildcats roared to life in the third quarter, swinging the momentum to take a nine-point lead at 31-22.

The fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle featuring several lead changes as Glenn chipped away at the deficit. The game came down to the final moments, where Glenn point guard Cimora Rorie played the hero, draining a game-winning 3-pointer with just 8.8 seconds remaining on the clock.

Despite the loss, Eastern saw strong offensive production. Madison Calvin led all scorers with a game-high 15 points. Klara Zizkova contributed 11 points, and Kylie Herbin added 10.

It was a tough learning experience for a talented but young Eastern squad that features no seniors on the roster. The loss drops the Lady Wildcats to 3-2 on the season.

Boys Basketball: Eastern Guilford 57, Glenn 50
In the nightcap, the Eastern Guilford boys overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to earn a hard-fought 57-50 victory.

The first half belonged to Glenn, who built a 36-25 lead by the break. The Wildcats needed a spark to start the second half, and they found it in freshman Noah Jordan.

Jordan single-handedly shifted the momentum, opening the third quarter by drilling three consecutive 3-pointers. His perimeter barrage erased the deficit and energized the Eastern defense. Jordan finished the night with a team-high 16 points. The Wildcats saw nine different players enter the scoring column. Senior Jameer Wade, Isaiah Shaffner, and Tramar Booker each chipped in with 6 points to keep the offense moving. Semaj Galloway for Glenn scored 22 and Derrek Griffin added 15 but it was the Wildcat defense that moved the needle in the second half.
With the victory, the Eastern Guilford boys improve to 2-3 on the season, while Glenn drops to 2-6.
