Southern Guilford High School Names Olandas McFail Head Football Coach
Pleasant Garden, NC — Southern Guilford High School proudly announces Olandas McFail as the new Head Football Coach of the Storm.
Coach McFail brings more than 20 years of experience in education and coaching, along with a deep understanding of Guilford County Schools and the Southern Guilford community. His promotion marks an exciting new chapter for the program, built on experience, familiarity, and a strong foundation of leadership.
This is Coach McFail’s second stint at Southern Guilford, having previously served under two different head coaches. During his time with the Storm, he’s held key leadership roles including Assistant Head Coach and Coordinator, while also serving as Head Wrestling Coach. In addition, he has been an Assistant Head Coach at Western Guilford High School and the Head Football Coach at Northern Guilford Middle School.
Coach McFail is known for his passion for the game, his steady leadership, and his commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the field. His experience across multiple levels of football and athletics gives him a unique perspective on building a disciplined, competitive, and connected program.
Athletic Director Wil Perry shared his enthusiasm about the hire:

He knows this community and the inner workings of our football program intimately.
