In tonight’s game, Grimsley jumped on top early, 2-0 after one inning, but Page really settled down, and it was still a 2-0 game in favor of Grimsley, as we headed to the bottom of the 4th inning, and that is where the Grimsley Whirlies broke things open, and the Whirlies scored 3 big runs, and that gave them all the cushion they needed, to grab the 5-0 victory…In the deciding Bottom of the Fourth Inning, with Grimsley at the plate, the Whirlies six walks, and three of the walks were Bases-Loaded Walks, and that is how Grimsley put those Three Game-Deciding runs on the scoreboard, and how the Whirlies were able to Load Things Up, and keep crossing home plate…
Grimsley got a steady start from senior Left-Handed Pitcher Eli Ponder, but he was pulled after 3 2/3’s Innings, and he ended up allowing 0 Runs, on 1 Hit, with 3 BBs, and 3 Ks…Ben Bartlett came on in relief for Grimsley, and Bartlett worked 3 1/3 Innings, giving up 0 Runs, on 0 Hits, with 1 BB/2 Ks…Ponder and Bartlett combined to hurl a One-Hit Shutout for the Grimsley Whirlies…For Page their starter Jackson Marriot was very effective, especially over the 3 1/3 Innings, and for Marriot, he went 3 2/3s Innings total, giving up the 5 Runs, on 2 Hits, with 5 BBs, and 2 Ks..Those 3 Bases-Loaded Walks killed the Pirates in that Bottom of the Fourth Inning…Not a bad overall job by Marriot, and he really did deserve a better fate, but that is how this game goes, it giveth, and then it takes you away, and you end up with a Loss…For Page, Henry Murphy came on to relieve Marriot, and Murphy went 3 1/3 Innings, allowing 0 Runs, on 0 Hits, with 1 BB/1 K…
Grimsley drew Six Walks from the Page Pirates pitchers, but as a whole, both teams, Grimsley and Page, were able to get overall, Three Hits total…Both Bartlett from Grimsley, and Murphy from Page, did excellent work/jobs, coming out of the the Whirlie and Pirate bullpens…The first batter of the game for Page, Jaydon Deaton, got a hit(Single) and that was it at the plate for the Page Pirates…
