(This is our Fred Anderson Toyota of Raleigh Game Report)

Greensboro Grasshoppers 8, WS Dash 6
WP:Yulian Quintana(1-0)/LP:Jake Curtis(1-2)/SV:Camden Janik(1)

Hoppers' Line-8-12-1
WS Dash' Line-6- 9-3

Hoppers and WS Dash both now at (16-11) after the completion of Sunday afternoon’s game…Hoppers win the Six-Game Series with the Dash, Four-Games-to-Two…

Greensboro Grasshoppers picked up Three(3) BIG Home Runs on Sunday, with Easton Carmichael, Edward Florentino, and Jared Jones, all going LOOOOOOONG GONE…Carmichael and Florentino with Three-Run HRs, and Jones with a Solo shot…

The Hoppers got the Save on the Mound in Sunday’s contest from Camden Janik, who is a catcher by trade, but became an emergency pitcher on Sunday, when the Greensboro Grasshoppers bullpen was getting thin, with the Hoppers having already used Five(5) pitchers in the ballgame, and Janik ended up Saving the Day, going 1 Inning, and allowing 0 Runs, on 2 Hits, with 0 BBs/0 Ks…

And to make things even MORE interesting, the Grasshoppers got a HOLD in Sunday’s game from another position player, Matt King…King, an infielder by trade, worked 1 1/3 Innings, giving up 1 Run, on 1 Hit, with 4 BBs/0 Ks…

Don’t think I have ever seen that before, where a team used Two Position Players as pitchers in the ballgame…Maybe one guy goes to Save the Bullpen, after they have run out of Pitchers in a long week’s Series, but Two Position Players on the mound in the Same Contest??? That is a first for me…Good Job, by King and Janik to eat up some Innings, and Save the Pen, and at the same time, they earned a HOLD and a SAVE during the process…Wild and Real Good for the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday afternoon….

We ought to be able and go ahead and shut down the Game Report after all we have said already, but here are a few more notes on Sunday’s game…

The Grasshopppers’ pitching staff from Sunday did Walk 12 Dash batters, and struck out 9 from WS…The Dash struck out 11 Hopper batters, and did not issue any Walks to the Greensboro Grasshoppers…For right around the Third Time this week in the Series, the WS Dash committed 3 Errors in the game…

The top of the Greensboro Grasshoppers batting order was very productive on Sunday, with 8 of the Grasshoppers 12 team hits coming from those four top spots in the order…Two hits each for Wyatt Sanford, Edward Florentino, Easton Carmichael, and Axiel Plaz…Sanford was 2-5/Double, Florentino goes 2-5/HR/2 Runs/3 RBI, Carmichael went 2-5/HR/3 RBI, and Plaz was 2-5/Double…

It was a BIG Third Inning at the plate for the Greensboro Grasshoppers….
Easton Carmichael homers on a fly ball to right center field. Brian Sanchez scores. Edward Florentino scores.
GBO 3,WS 1

Then it was even a BIGGER Fouth Inning for the Hoppers at the plate…
Top of the Fourth:
Shalin Polanco singles on a sharp ground ball to right fielder George Wolkow. Sammy Stafura scores.
GBO 4,WS 1

Edward Florentino homers on a fly ball to right center field. Shalin Polanco scores. Brian Sanchez scores.
GBO 7,WS 1

The Grasshoppers’ Winning Pitcher Yulian Quintana worked 1 Inning, and he gave 0 Runs, on 0 Hits, with 2 BB/1 K…

Looks like those position players, Janik and King, were a BIG Help to the Hoppers on the Hill, on Sunday…
