Sanders Wins Carolinas Four-Ball Championship

CAMDEN, S.C. – Reece Sanders of the UNC Greensboro earned the win at the 75th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship at Camden Country Club with partner Dylan Takenga on Monday.

The duo notched a four-under-par (66) in round one and five-under-par (65) in the second round, finishing tied for 12th to make the cut into match play. Sanders boasted scores of 59-62-69 in the bracket, while Takenga notched scores of 61-61-70 to grant the duo with the win.

“It was a really good event and the format was super fun,” said Sanders. “My goal was to just enjoy being out there and competing again. After an injury and a redshirt year it was awesome to play some competitive golf and I’m really happy that I was able to put together a couple solid rounds.”

Sanders notched a total of two eagles, 25 birdies and 52 pars across the four-day event. The freshmen redshirted his first season with the Spartans and looks to join the squad on the course this fall.
